Umm, that one thread where everyone was making puns from the names of post-structuralist philosophers? Probably like 2002 old, lots of Momus -- only pun I half-remember is something like "we will never get Derrida it now."

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 16:20 (seventeen years ago) link

Nevermind, got it.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 5 September 2006 16:21 (seventeen years ago) link

How come, when you search for stuff, you can't sort it by date?

Savannah Smiles, Friday, 11 July 2008 09:57 (fifteen years ago) link

(it was on ILM, I think)

Savannah Smiles, Friday, 11 July 2008 10:01 (fifteen years ago) link

Mark G, Friday, 11 July 2008 11:08 (fifteen years ago) link

Are you being sarcastic? I couldn't find anything in search or control-F'ing all over the place!

might be on 77 or MRF, but it's the thread with the ultra-brilliant line about the slow devolution of posters from earnest ILM reporter to crankier subboarder to in-joke spouter to drastic misspeller to sock puppet user that I'm finding more and more accurate these days

there is a thread discussing the loudest bands of all time, in particular a Mojo article that went in depth about concert volumes (MBV was at the top, I think? there were also some references to MC Hammer spawning noise ordinances that pretty much killed the idea of going over a certain db range within city limits...)

I can't find it, or the Mojo article. li'l help?

Can someone remind me what the thread with all the modernist, geometric-abstraction book covers from the 70s was called. Or At least some other archive of modernist book design. Thanks.

They're not all book covers, but maybe this one?
