this i don't believe. i think o'neal is desperately concerned with going out on a super high note -- preferably by beating bryant in the finals. he could have signed for more money elsewhere. not that i think he's likely to put boston over-the-top at this stage of his career, but whatevs.

BOSTON — NBA analyst David Aldridge said Wednesday that with the addition of Shaquille O'Neal, the Celtics have vastly improved their chances of leading the league in three-second lane violations for the 2010–2011 season. "Not only does Shaq's presence in the paint give his team more opportunities to turn the ball over, but the Celtics have also added an experienced big man who makes an already old team significantly older," said Aldridge, adding that O'Neal should fill a key role in terms of drastically slowing down the Celtics' offense. "Danny Ainge was looking for someone with size who can't make it down to the other end of the court, and he went out and got the best in the business." Aldridge added that while O'Neal isn't the dominant force he once was, he believes Shaq still has a thing or two to teach teams who think it's a good idea to sign him.

He may not entirely solidify the C's, but he can add a lot of viscosity.

yeah they def need zinger back and theyll need to score enough to keep up with denver cause youre not going to shut down their offense because of joker, one tantalizing tidbit from the regular season games is at the end of the second game during their comeback they had some success pressuring denver fullcourt, much like minny did early in the current series, denver solved minnys press by having gordon bring the ball up which then required one of minnys bigs to get involved in the press which is just not something they want to do, they could switch that but then theres mismatches behind, however boston wont have the same problem since they dont play two bigs, not saying itll work but somethin to keep an eye on

think a celtics win v denver has them going wild with the perimeter d jrue and derrick blowing up pick and rolls tatum and brown rotating on a string etc finding ways to make denver play with a short clock
