How sorry is every other team in the league going to be that they didn't draft Blair by the end of the year? Jeez what a beast.

greg oden has played 30+ minutes in an nba game 9 times ever

ice cr?m, Friday, 30 October 2009 21:28 (3 weeks ago) Permalink

Oden didn't start more than a few games last year, generally when Przybilla was injured. He played mostly with the second unit. Meaning only that the lack of minutes was by design. He still fouls too much and gets taken out for that reason, but part of that is the crappy NBA officiating.

Yeah. The question with JO'N is whether he can keep up this statistical pace for any length of time.

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 1 November 2009 02:19 (2 weeks ago) Permalink

But if he can, and if Beasley continues to improve, the Heat will be pretty good this year.

With four 40-point games already this season after getting just four all last year, Kobe trails only Wilt Chamberlain (271) and Michael Jordan (173) in 40-point games in NBA history.

yeah not the most welcome trend obv. but congratulations on behalf of basketball lovers everywhere. we've enjoyed every. single. one.

7 man/1 zombie (raja bell)

rofl - i feel so bad for raja - suns -> bobcats -> warriors is like going from a mansion, to being homeless, to being a homeless person beaten with a baseball bat by two drunk 15-year-olds

chillwave dudes get washed out, totally (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 19 November 2009 03:51 (2 days ago) Permalink

yeah totally--it was weird during the broadcast they were saying he's apparently going to have season ending surgery but that he was available and then he played? i know it's strange times we live in but i feel those things should be mutually exclusive.

omaha deserved 311 (call all destroyer), Thursday, 19 November 2009 03:54 (2 days ago) Permalink

I think he has an issue that can't get worse, so he's playing until he has the surgery.

But anyway, he was always just a body to the W's. They haven't even signed any D league guys to replace all the guys who are injured. Very sad state of affairs.

windy = white, carl = black (polyphonic), Thursday, 19 November 2009 17:37 (2 days ago) Permalink

bell hurt his wrist and was going to put off surgery when he was on the bobcats (with the idea that maybe the playoffs could happen..ie lol first round exit) but now that he's on the warriors it's clearly time for the season-ender

btw does anyone remember that kobels had a busted finger that he just taped up and was putting of surgery? did that ever actually happen? was that last year or 08? was he just taping up a finger to make things more difficult for himself?

i'll see you in jamie mccourt then (agent hibachi), Thursday, 19 November 2009 17:53 (2 days ago) Permalink

"You can't exactly call it the shot heard 'round the world. For starters, the 73-foot swish that Kevin Garnett heaved in last night from just above the Golden State foul line didn't count. After a lengthy video review, referee Scott Foster determined that Garnett, who released the ball in a spinning, shotput motion, didn't beat the clock. For another, the Celtics forward was a blank slate after the game. He had to be reminded of the shot. 'I did make a halfcourt shot, didn't I,' he said after the Celtics' 109-95 win, getting the distance wrong. He turned to Paul Pierce and, in a mock scolding, said to the Celtics captain, 'Why didn't you tell me, dog?' Told the shot was actually made from three-quarters court distance, Garnett said, 'It was three-quarters, wasn't it. Whoa, that felt good.'"
