ingram is built like a damn spider
― call all destroyer, Thursday, 17 March 2016 18:24 (eight years ago) link
hes v thin but he has a p big frame like his shoulders are way wider than durants
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2016 18:26 (eight years ago) link
yeah was just thinking that. he could have like a rondo type of frame when he puts a little weight on
― Spottie, Thursday, 17 March 2016 18:28 (eight years ago) link
it's hard for me to look at him and not think "this guy is going to be very very good in the nba"
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 March 2016 19:00 (eight years ago) link
he def seems like hes going to be very very good
― lag∞n, Thursday, 17 March 2016 19:00 (eight years ago) link
draft xpress currently has him at #1
striaght up rooting for duke to make the champ game so i cn keep watching ingram
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:11 (eight years ago) link
people haven't seemed to realize that coach k shifted duke to the one and done model and as such has had a bunch of really likable ballers in the last few years
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:12 (eight years ago) link
was just thinking that
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:14 (eight years ago) link
like traditionally basically created the one dimensonal hateable white but grayson allen is all threes and crazy drives to the basket i love watching him
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:14 (eight years ago) link
duke basically created*
cant beat kentuky gotta join em
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:15 (eight years ago) link
yeah and UNC has basically swung back the other direction, it's interesting
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:19 (eight years ago) link
ingram was basically seen as a UNC lock for several years but ended up going w/ duke in the end
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:20 (eight years ago) link
for a while it seemed like going w a second tier team that ran nba offense and didnt have other stars was the way to juice draft stock but calipari changed the math via putting 6 guys in the first round every year
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:24 (eight years ago) link
allens got 22 w 2 left in the 1st
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:30 (eight years ago) link
i haven't watched him at all, is he good or just college good
― k3vin k., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:31 (eight years ago) link
hell be a pro but prob not that great
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:33 (eight years ago) link
tho when u can shoot anything is possible
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:34 (eight years ago) link
hes projected as a bubble 1st rounder now
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:35 (eight years ago) link
wait hold on there's another plumlee?
― k3vin k., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:37 (eight years ago) link
theres an endless supply of plumlees
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:38 (eight years ago) link
i think the thing w/ allen is that he's only listed at 6' 5" so he's more a combo guard than a 3 and d guy. if he was 2 or 3 inches taller he would be a lottery pick. i.e. he's much more skilled than sam dekker but dekker has enough height to play on the wing.
but l feel like a lot of teams still have pretty poor guard depth. a lot of teams frankly don't even have three good guards so i feel like there's def a place for him in the league as a scorer off the bench.
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:44 (eight years ago) link
im a plumlee but when my family immigrated from plumland they changed their family name to bison bc thats the english equivalent
― get a long, little doggy (m bison), Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:46 (eight years ago) link
six four/five is plenty big to play the nba 2 if he really is that big, but seems like he doesnt have great athleticism either so
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:46 (eight years ago) link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGCytpyY5Wg
he's not unathletic!
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:48 (eight years ago) link
i think weirdly he can really jump but isn't that fast or quick laterally
wwhen he was 11 should have prayed to god for overall athletic abilities instead of "dear god please let me dunk good"
― get a long, little doggy (m bison), Saturday, 19 March 2016 19:49 (eight years ago) link
yeah allen doesnt look super quick out there idk
― lag∞n, Saturday, 19 March 2016 20:01 (eight years ago) link
buddy hield??
― lag∞n, Sunday, 27 March 2016 00:02 (eight years ago) link
he had an absolutely insane shooting year but it kinda came out of nowhere and hes old
― lag∞n, Sunday, 27 March 2016 00:03 (eight years ago) link
but if he can really shoot like that...
idk i'm not convinced that age should be held against guys who could really play as upperclassmen. he can really play imo
― call all destroyer, Sunday, 27 March 2016 00:41 (eight years ago) link
his shot looked unbelievable tonight and you have a pretty high floor if you can shoot like that. i think the question about him is if he's athletic/quick enough to consistently generate his own shot but given how the game is right now that shot would still make him a pretty valuable player.
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 27 March 2016 00:41 (eight years ago) link
seniors drafted in the first round in the last 3 years
frank kaminskyjerian grantdelon wrightlarry nance jrdoug mcdermottadreian payneshabazz napiercj wilcoxjosh heustiscj mccollummason plumleesolomon hilltyler zellerandrew nicholsonmiles plumleefestus ezilijimmer fredettenolan smithkenneth fariedjajuan johnsonnorris colejimmy butler
not exactly the most encouraging group. butler the only franchise player, faried and mccollum arguably close. a lot of role players and busts in that group. also had draymond and jae crowder as second round seniors.
obv if buddy is this good of a shooter it would be almost impossible for him to not be a valuable nba player http://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2016/3/22/11259826/buddy-hield-stephen-curry-three-point-shooting-nba-draft-ncaa-tournament
that his shot pretty much came out of nowhere this year might be a little concerning but it looks really damn good
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 27 March 2016 00:52 (eight years ago) link
er that's the last 5 years i mean on the draft list
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 27 March 2016 00:53 (eight years ago) link
I figure he'll be taken somewhere between picks 10 and 20.
― a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Sunday, 27 March 2016 01:00 (eight years ago) link
no way he lasts to 10
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 27 March 2016 01:15 (eight years ago) link
wasnt damian a senior taken in the last 5 years?
― Clay, Sunday, 27 March 2016 01:23 (eight years ago) link
nah jr. might have been a fourth year jr. tho?
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 27 March 2016 01:24 (eight years ago) link
huh yeah i think he was 22, figured he was a sr.
― Clay, Sunday, 27 March 2016 01:25 (eight years ago) link
he was a 4-year player, he's more or less a senior and belongs in the same discussion as the rest of those guys
― k3vin k., Sunday, 27 March 2016 01:32 (eight years ago) link
feel like hield should at least be as good as mccollum. fwiw mccollum also just had an insane shooting year as a senior.
― circles, Sunday, 27 March 2016 03:28 (eight years ago) link
some guys are late bloomers whatcha gonna do

― lag∞n, Sunday, 27 March 2016 05:52 (eight years ago) link
lol that red trendline really illuminates that he got better then regressed then improved again huh we are truly in the age of data
― Clay, Sunday, 27 March 2016 06:09 (eight years ago) link
wow, he is really high on him. as much as people have talked about length in recent years, it's interesting that simmons is notably not long for a 6'10" guy.
― circles, Saturday, 21 May 2016 03:59 (eight years ago) link
did not even realize he was that tall
― Spottie, Saturday, 21 May 2016 04:12 (eight years ago) link
yeah, maybe not, different sources have different numbers, and he didn't do the official combine measurements.
― circles, Saturday, 21 May 2016 04:25 (eight years ago) link
he does not look 6'10" irl, might be 6'8"
― micah, Saturday, 21 May 2016 08:48 (eight years ago) link
Concerns about Simmons?
The knock on Simmons as a shooter is somewhat overrated. Let's not forget that another do-it-all type of NBA star was not a good shooter in college. In two seasons, Kawhi Leonard shot 20.5 percent and 29.1 percent from 3, yet is a career 39-percent shooter in the NBA -- making 44 percent this season.
Simmons has a good-looking stroke, but he never looked as if he was willing to take 3-pointers, and was hesitant to take a lot of jump shots, period. Perhaps this was due to a coaching decision, as he was able to drive by or pass over most defenders. In the NBA, it is fair to expect he will shoot a lot of 3s and be at least good at it, in time.
[waves hands until they fall off]
― lag∞n, Monday, 23 May 2016 00:01 (eight years ago) link
yeah i am not sure how you get from 'he's not a good shooter' to 'he will shoot a lot of 3s and be good at it' that quickly
― ciderpress, Monday, 23 May 2016 00:05 (eight years ago) link
but simmons form is kinda terrible
― micah, Monday, 23 May 2016 01:02 (eight years ago) link
Still think this draft is terrible. This is the draft where I'm gonna be that guy finally.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 20 June 2016 00:05 (eight years ago) link
is bumping this thread during the national anthem of game 7 like one of those lebron subtweets where he tweets about a game being shown on nba tv while the warriors are disemboweling a team on tnt
― J0rdan S., Monday, 20 June 2016 00:06 (eight years ago) link
anyway this draft is terrible, the celtics got screwed
blazers have no picks this draft. I am pretty non-committal about it. it will be interesting to see who gets simmons and whether he is worth his salt.
― a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Monday, 20 June 2016 03:48 (eight years ago) link
Absolutely
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 20 June 2016 03:54 (eight years ago) link
Who would you take with the second pick in this draft?
― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Wednesday, 11 April 2018 04:43 (six years ago) link
guerschon yabusele
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 April 2018 04:52 (six years ago) link
in all seriousness the top 3 are looking like sure fire allstars, simmons is obvs the best and ingram and brown are looking pretty even, id prob take brown if i had to choose but ingram cld easily turn out better he was a total revelation taking over ballhandling duties for the lakers this year, murray goes 4th then everyone else is looking pretty rough
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 11 April 2018 04:57 (six years ago) link
o wait i missed taurean prince i like him too sabonis and brogdon are dece a few other guys will prob pan out to some extent, anyway its prob rare to have the best three players actually go in the top 3 spots but it looks like thats what happened here
