it's like DARK CLOUD 2 for MALICE MIZER fans who think BIOSHOCK made too much SENSE.
kind of fun so far though to be honest. I'm appreciating the OTT gothiness of the whole thing as a satire.

games blogger = eukaryote thread has plenty of examples so I'm just reposting this here for topical points
In our recent review of Baroque, we found that the game was a textbook slow starter. While it took about thirty minutes to get used to, the overall experience turned out to be pretty fun. Sadly, though, if we hadn't been reviewing the game, we probably would have given up on it before reaching the point of enjoyment.

This is such a strong unendorsement that I almost missed "kind of fun". I really liked Yggdra Union which this is game is - nothing like? 10% like? Kinda similar to? I'm almost finished Persona 3, finally, so another goth-y JPRG would be nice.

every single review seems to complain about how it basically dumps you into a surrealist labyrinth with no explanation and a countdown ticking but that, to me, is kind of awesome. My only issue so far is the fucking camera and the relatively small number of different monsters I've run into so far.
