I really like "Cherry Blossom Season" and that rap song with the prominent piano hook in the first game.

HOWEVER! The song that sounds like a japanese hilary duff in the second one is the best song ever.

Yes, the racing level and that song are pretty perfect together. The Kenji Niinuma tracks* are the bomb. I have no idea what he's saying but it rules. Unfortunately there's nothing on We Love Katamari to match Charlie Kosei.

* "The Moon & The Prince" (that rap song with the prominent piano hook in the first game) and "DISCO PRINCE" (the somewhat generic house track from the sequel)

five years pass...

The first Katamari disc is an all-time. I am slowly coming to the realization that there will probably never be another album like it. WLK is definitely the second best in the series but it still seems to pale in creativity to the first one. It's got so many neat WTF moments and is all so ridiculously catchy. "Que Sera Sera" is such a cool tune especially given how straight its done, it never takes a moment to revel in its own ridiculousness and that is awesome. Also "Angel's Flavor Present" is one of the saddest pieces of instrumental music I've ever heard, really, it kind of sounds like you're hearing your own death. But yeah the Hilary Duff tune on WLK is pretty neat too.
