straight up regular cabbage is always the business.
I only partake of the other varieties when they are served as a side effect of my dweiji bulgogi

this rules so hard, high 5

Being debt-free is a good short-term feeling, but financially it puts you at a disadvantage as far as doing nothing towards building/improving your credit rating. Totally frustrating but yet it's the game that financial institutions force people to play. Just play the credit card juggling game with the no-interest rate cards and keep transferring your maximum balance every 3-6-9 months.

Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 01:16 (sixteen years ago) link

well I'm not cutting up my cards or anything. and being free from carrying any card balances from one month to another is a pretty key part of my secret "stop renting" plan

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 01:19 (sixteen years ago) link

improving yr credit is only good for getting into more debt whatevs!!

yea i dunno im doing the no-interest credit card thing but i dont really consider that being in debt since its ez to pay each month

ok xpost

keep transferring your maximum balance every 3-6-9 months.
what does this mean?? transfer to other cards so balance on one is zero and then tranfer back again on/before payment due date so effectively you never pay interest? i need to understand these things better

i have decided to ease up just a little on my debt repayment plan so that i might enjoy life a little more and stop feeling like such a student when i am not one now

rrrobyn, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:11 (sixteen years ago) link

ugh i hate you all right now. i am in 2nd-semester-of-grad-school-oh-no-what-the-fuck-have-i-done!?!?!? land right now and it is not fun.

otm on an emotional level and i guess a personal finance strategic level. all i know is i finally paid off my amex last week and it felt like a huge load lifted off my back. yet now i don't really care.

doesn't opening up a bunch of new cards each year hurt your credit rating? or is that a myth?

sanskrit, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:25 (sixteen years ago) link

applying for too many cards too frequently is bad because your rating gets dinged if ppl are running checks on you too frequently. or something like that.

tehresa, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:27 (sixteen years ago) link

all i know is i finally paid off my amex last week

wait, isn't your amex is due in full at the end of every month? mine is.

Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:31 (sixteen years ago) link

doing all i can to be off the grid in nyc....and failing

bb, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:31 (sixteen years ago) link

time to go back to ithaca...perhaps?!!!

bb, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 03:32 (sixteen years ago) link

just because it's due doesn't magically make a person able to pay it! see also why I have never bothered to sign up for an amex. maybe when I open my own business I'll get one, but hell if I need one as a consumer.

Linds, want to rent a hotel room in Asbury Park, NJ for like four days next summer and take bikes?? I want to so so so badly. Anyone can come crash and throw in like $15/night.

Laurel, Thursday, 21 February 2008 21:30 (sixteen years ago) link

We will pack nothing but sundresses and bathing suits and maybe one set of dirtbag styleezz for sneaking into the boarded-up derelict casino at night.

Laurel, Thursday, 21 February 2008 21:42 (sixteen years ago) link

And then brag about it.
