My childhood experiences suggest that lack of empathy among young people may predate the internet.

Xpost-Went to a "dance club" in Shreveport once that I'm pretty sure featured some of these moves. It was a nightmarish place. 3 separate square-dance floors. Country music only playing in one.

Jon Paul Morosi has a nice little profile of Cubs manager Mike Quade, but he buries the lede. Namely, that in Dusty Baker's last season in Chicago, someone left a going-away present for him.

"At the very end, somebody took a dump right where I stood in the dugout every day," Baker said Monday morning. "That was the low point. The grounds crew guy cleaned it up. He said, ‘Oh, I think it's dog crap.' I said, ‘No it ain't. That's human crap.'"

Idaho's more worried about wolves than bears. Worried that not all of them will be shot and killed in a timely manner, based on the number of these stickers I see on big-ass trucks:

Harsh Noise Walls, for no sake other it's own sake. It is about damn time that these two fantastic artists have released something together, being so geographically and ideologically close. Vomir, like founding fathers The Rita and Richard Ramirez, is the blackened faceless visage of harsh noise. A complete nothingness oblivion exemplifies the work of Vomir like no other artist before or (very likely) after. Vomir is the complete and utter end of sound, sonic oblivion and destroyed speakers and lives. This is the end result of life, death and finally, decay. Rot and oblivion. Vomir's outlook precludes a heaven, for it is the razor-tipped edge of night that is all and ends all. Vomir wears a bag over his head, and this mystifies the observers. They witness egoless void apocalypse in a synaptical re-iterance of post-vomited life.

There are a lot of sounds going on in a void. In the ultimate darkness, in utter blackness, one can truly see everything. Only in the complete blindness of a glaring white backdrop is there a true void. The utter blackness and bleakness of Vomir provides the ultimate promise of harsh and depressive violence of metal and rock genres. The entire beast dessicated into a vital and syrupy aromatic fluid that is happily gobbled by those so hungry for vital life soup. Vomir is quite famous for having recording where one track is basically a single sound for a duration of anywhere between twenty minutes to an hour. In this one, I hear so much variation and dynamics that it boggles the mind. Ptomain rises to the occasion and provides the singular and monomaniacal treble pulse that one has come to expect from Vomir's digital releases as of late. I much prefer Vomir on cassette, as that format seems to perfectly armour the lush and brutale sounds of the luxurious and inter-dimensional Vomir.

Ptomain is sick noise walls as you like it. Proving themselves to be the harsh wall voice of Germany, it brings much pleasure to my heart to tell you that these Teutons are bringing home the noise bacon every way you want it. This is a fine saurkraut of noise that satisfies and enlightens. Great work from a completely fiendish German brotherhood/sisterhood of noise. Harsh and necessary Harsh Noise Walls from the brilliant Hellville recordings.
