FAX ME, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 20:33 (fifteen years ago) link

Why hi dere Reva, fancy meeting you here.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 20:36 (fifteen years ago) link

Hi Reva!

xp Abandon your work for the good of ITR.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 21:08 (fifteen years ago) link

Hi Ned! Hi Sara! People meet in the oddest of places.

Kitties!!!, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

I now must ask if "Kitties!!!" is a reference to Crow on MST3K's comment whenever he saw lions.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 21:18 (fifteen years ago) link

i am just here to say: girls are stupid. i am going to join a celibate monastery.

remy bean, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 22:52 (fifteen years ago) link

aww remy :(

in my experience, it's not girls - rather, it's ppl in general who are stupid.

Rubyredd, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 23:16 (fifteen years ago) link

RR is right, of course.

But girls can be superdumb as a group.

Then again, SO CAN BOYZ

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 23:25 (fifteen years ago) link

Sorry, Remy. :-/

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 23:45 (fifteen years ago) link

its actually a fact that girls are dumb ~RELATIVE TO MALES~

compared to pretty much everythign else they are very, very smart

deeznuts, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 23:47 (fifteen years ago) link

hey nonny nonny

estela, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 23:58 (fifteen years ago) link

xp I believe we may have to politely disagree on this one.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 00:23 (fifteen years ago) link

i went to the laundromat on my own today. it was quite an adventure.

Rubyredd, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 00:44 (fifteen years ago) link

the orlando laundromat i used to go to was overrun with babies drinking giant sodas.

estela, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 00:50 (fifteen years ago) link

Ugh. So wrong.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 01:25 (fifteen years ago) link

Ned - it isn't, but now I am telling everyone it's a reference to MST3K!

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 01:44 (fifteen years ago) link

confession: i do not know what MST3K is.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 01:47 (fifteen years ago) link

It's Mystery Science Theater 3000. Does that help? You can wiki that. And for some reason I feel old right now! Oh and sorry I lamed out Sat. night. I was super-exhausted. I hear I missed all sorts of fun. So excited about your new job.

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 01:56 (fifteen years ago) link

ohhhhhh i have seen that. lol for months i have been all ??? about that.

sorry you were sleepy sat - we missed you!
i am really excited, too :)

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:09 (fifteen years ago) link

Wow, for a second I was worried that you had never experienced any MST3K, tza. You SCARED me!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:24 (fifteen years ago) link

very funny. seeing things in acronym form only can definitely cause confusion.

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:30 (fifteen years ago) link

i always thought it was some lack of vowels/3 replaces E thing... durrrrr.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:31 (fifteen years ago) link

which gets to our IPA obsession. to be discussed later...

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:51 (fifteen years ago) link

just now realized IPA refers to something geeky AND beer. big plus.

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:52 (fifteen years ago) link

^_~

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:52 (fifteen years ago) link

I heart acronyms. But I'm all for causing a little confusion.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 02:59 (fifteen years ago) link

i am kind of annoyed that it's 11pm news time so there's no hillary speech analysis :(

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:10 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm listening to MSNBC. Kind of loved her line about the Twin Cities, lol

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:13 (fifteen years ago) link

I suppose if you have no cable, that would be problematic. Can you stream cable television pundits online somehow?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:14 (fifteen years ago) link

cheesiest joke ever!

uh,i dunno. hmmm. maybe there will be talk on pbs or in the 11:30 abc show?

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:15 (fifteen years ago) link

I like cheesy jokes as well as confusion, apparently.

Are you really worried that you're missing something by not hearing the pundits? They're kind of full of hot air. MSNBC has Andrea Mitchell on right now; she's not my favorite. I kind of prefer Pat Buchanan because I know the nutty point of view he's coming from and he never holds back.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:18 (fifteen years ago) link

i was really excited bc nbc had michele norris earlier and i <3 her.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:22 (fifteen years ago) link

I don't even know who that is! (How did that happen?)

I'm really grateful that I haven't seen any sign of Peggy Noonan on television during this election cycle. That woman's whole being screams MOONBAT to me.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:26 (fifteen years ago) link

she is a radio lady. from npr's all things considered. she says her name 'mee-shell' (lol kitties! where is our ipa?!)

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:27 (fifteen years ago) link

Thanks for the 411, tza. I would like to give up school and listen to NPR for the next several years come to think of it.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:34 (fifteen years ago) link

where is our ipa damnit!? international pale alphabet? india phonetic ale? ugh this is a sign that i must go to sleep but want to hear about your new job...talk tomorrow!

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:37 (fifteen years ago) link

i am upset at npr bc they canceled my favorite show. grr.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:39 (fifteen years ago) link

Bryant Park Project? That does suck.

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:41 (fifteen years ago) link

yes. i even teared up at their last episode (mostly bc they were tearing up). that show and its 2-hour podcast helped my stupid commutes so much last year. rip.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:42 (fifteen years ago) link

that's sad. i listen to almost all npr stuff via podcast too. makes my walks to/from work most enjoyable.

Kitties!!!, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 03:43 (fifteen years ago) link

I would like a whole iPod for podcasts alone. Two-hour round trip commute to school can be loooooong.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 04:03 (fifteen years ago) link

my ipod died when they announced the bpp was being canceled. i think it was a protest. need to get a new one now.

tehresa, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 04:06 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh, that is sad. I keep expecting mine to drop dead... it's not like I haven't dropped it multiple times...

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 04:22 (fifteen years ago) link

i have dropped one in the toilet, and the other i have given a good washing/drying on the cotton setting.

remy bean, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 04:34 (fifteen years ago) link

remy, that is an impressive track record. Ouch.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 04:46 (fifteen years ago) link

Oddly enough I had an IPA for dinner tonight. (No borscht, sadly, as I was very frazzled coming back from work with an aching hip, so I just reheated some pasta and a bit of bread, which did the trick.)

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 05:46 (fifteen years ago) link

Morning. I had a fancy restaurant meal last night which involved beetroot and I'm ashamed to say I left some of it. I also left a hunk of slow cooked veal belly. I was full! It was good though. And drinking £10-a-glass vino nobile di Montepulciano. Nom.

Mark C, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 09:37 (fifteen years ago) link

Good morning.

I had chicken tacos/fajitas and guac last night which were fine but fairly routine on our menu so a little boring. For breakfast now, popcorn.

My new job is proving to be quite a shift for me going from working with professionals to working with college students. They are so sloppy and willful!

Susan, Wednesday, 27 August 2008 13:32 (fifteen years ago) link

Oh also this is the no longer miserable Sam/Ms. M. now going by my government name.
