My job is increasingly demanding more critical thinking skills and executive decisions from me and I'm just not feeling up-to-task. I'm hanging on by a thread here for xmas break.

I want to work in an OB clinic. I think I'd like to work anywhere that doesn't involve sitting in front of multiple computer screens all day.

Bad things:

Sinus infection migrated to my chest and I was off work all last week in misery.
Work has no internets
Builders redoing my bathroom are redoing it very very slowly and I am camped out at my dads

My dad, at some unspecified point, bought 4 bottles of really good tequilla for an un known reason, he doesn't like the stuff and has told me to drink it and I now feel healthy enough to do so.

yes. my parents' 'new kitchen' fund was hit in the economy crash which is sad, but i don't believe they'll actually get up the chutzpah to move anyway.

I totally love my OB prof. Sadly, this unit only lasts through one more class and one clinical with her (we go observe labor and delivery on our own). It's just not enough time to endear myself to her and get her to adopt me.

(note, you will probably secure a real job with sick days. i chose a very stupid industry, and admittedly fucked myself over in a lot of ways when i took this job in hopes that it would eventually pay off and i could forget how miserable i am now).

i remember when i started to go into labor (induced) and some nurses were standing over me and my mom pipes up 'its must be great working in the maternity ward' and a nurse replies 'itys either great or really, really sad' and im all like 'god! shutup, mom!'

speaking of moms shes about to land in LA in a couple of minutes (from sydney AUS) to visit us for a month so im in the dreaded CLEANING MODE.

sunny, i will send my roomie over to help. he also called into work yesterday, not because he was sick, but just because. he then proceeded to MASSIVELY clean our living room/kitchen. it is sparkling. i think he just threw everything in the trash and then went to town scrubbing. hope there was not any important mail there! (i am generally good about pulling mine from the pile, but it's possible to miss stuff!).

Tomorrow is postpartum clinical day; I don't have to do labor and delivery until next weekend. I'm impressed that you let your mother come to your labor. I would NOT have been happy to see mine, and god knows what I might have said to her.
