continuing my regular reporting of great stuff i have enjoyed, the movie The Signal was stunningly and shockingly good, 28 Days Later via David Lynch, including totally out of the blue humor and way more creepy dread than jump out at you scares. One of the best Netflixed movies I've seen this year. Also The Ten was great in a "guys from the state attempt to make an American The Meaning Of Life and kind of sometimes succeed" sort of way.

Anyone have any messages they want to send a drunk Fluffy Bear? I will be seeing one tomorrow.

I have finally arrived back home after a lovely lazy morning of dozing and brunch. Going to ignore responsibilities today I think bc I don't want to ruin this feeling!

At work today too! But luckily it's always one of the quietest days of the year, so. (It's just me and a student staffer covering the whole library, pretty much.)

Had another indescribably awesome day, with family and friends, and also one billion other Disney tourists.

p.s. to John - this morning I was really tired and was speculating on whether my New Year's Resolution should be to watch scarier movies. A. does not think this idea is a good one.

happy thanksgiving everyone! i am in chicago, had a very hectic thanksgiving: off the plane, straight to jordan's parents' house with all the family and family friends. and it was not vegetarian afterall - i got to eat turkey for the first time and it was FUCKIN A+++ would eat again!

also: jordan's parents got me a SIGNED mary ellen mark photography book for my birthday!! and his mum made me this really gorgeous beaded necklace. i am feeling rather spoiled. she also hemmed my pants.

I made stuffing for the Thanksgiving dinner I was invited to and just finished the last of it. Active ingredients: pancetta, mushrooms, wild rice and Italian sausage.

no, i'm not vegan, altho i've been mostly vegetarian sinced i moved to the US. but turkey isn't really eaten in nz. you can get them, but it's not very common and it's not a traditional holiday roast. i think this one was organic/freerange which is why it tasted so good.

omg, today jordan told me he had a surprise for me... i looked out the window and EVERYTHING is blanketed with snow! i've seen anything like it before! (i've seen snow on a mountain a couple of times but never in someone's backyard)

also, for sara: we were talking about weather/places to live and jordan said he'd love to live in minnesota... so maybe one day we'll be neighbours!

i don't really like sausage, but italian sausage is divine.

we had amazing stuffing. it contained turkey sausage, apples, onions, a splash of cider, and was then baked IN hollowed out tomatoes for added awesome.

OK so sourdough breadcrumbs, basmati and wild rice, garlic, onions, carrots, chestnut and Potobello mushrooms, giblets, chicken stock, wine, Italian sausage, pancetta. Anything not meaty fried in olive oil and butter, half the stock used in cooking of rice, add appropriate-to-sausage herbs and OH FUCK I NEED TO MAKE SOME MORE.
