(also apparently struggling with metaphors)

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:04 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm happy for you having good shoes, John. I did not like to imagine you walking around with cardboard on your feet during another Minnesota winter.

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:05 (fifteen years ago) link

tiger onitsuka ultimate 81 in oatmeal/carrot!!!!

(that is actually not just a random string of words. i swear. it describes shoes.)

color scheme of the middle shoe in this: http://www.dragonfencing.com/Shoes/CIMG1545_2_1.JPG

but in this http://www.dragonfencing.com/Shoes/CIMG1409_13_2_1.JPG style

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Friday, 7 November 2008 07:15 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah if anyone who doesn't have auto-blocked images wants to let me know if that worked, that would be awesome.

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Friday, 7 November 2008 07:16 (fifteen years ago) link

I SEE SHOES

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:20 (fifteen years ago) link

I am having a moment of amusement at John wearing shoes in "oatmeal and carrot."

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:20 (fifteen years ago) link

(during the long winter if times get tough, I guess John can eat them, though)

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:21 (fifteen years ago) link

thx sara. i am glad that you respect my survivalist instinct.

you really should plan an escape to citified fun some day soon to remove stress.

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Friday, 7 November 2008 07:22 (fifteen years ago) link

thx John. I will come up as soon as I can, but I have to finish this class first. I fear that "remove stress" could translate to my own demise, as at this point drinking enough to kill myself sounds pretty good, but I think I'm just CRANKY SARA.

I'm happy as long as *I* don't have to eat those shoes.

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 07:25 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, I'm going to go do that sleep thing that all the kids seem so into these days.

'Night all.

(and thx for sharing yr shoe pix, Scurvy)

fluffy bear, listening to old school opera singers: who'd have thunk it!?

not i, certainly.

i hope that is not too creepy.

He's an eclectic bear.

I'm gonna nerd out for a second and gloat about the fact that, according to the World of Warcraft Armory, I picked up the best cloth armor pants possible in game last night WOOO WOOO WOOO WOOO WOOO A WINNER IS ME. Take that, Archimonde!

(Archimonde is the boss monster we had to kill; it takes 25 ppl to do it. 2 pieces of gear dropped that I could use and I won one of them on a random roll. </explanationforsara>)

i bought a pair of tiger onitsuka years ago for some ridiculous standard australian price ($150+?) but I never wore them because they were too narrow for my feet!

Old Opera singers that i think of fondly that no one else remembers - Mado Robin, Jussi Bjorling.

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Friday, 7 November 2008 15:45 (fifteen years ago) link

well you guys might but no one else does.

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Friday, 7 November 2008 15:45 (fifteen years ago) link

also Suzanne Danco

CHARMING LMAO (John Justen), Friday, 7 November 2008 15:45 (fifteen years ago) link

Feeling sad that I have no idea who John is talking about.

(not kidding!)

Sara R-C, Friday, 7 November 2008 16:22 (fifteen years ago) link

bjorling was on the highest played artists list!

is it wrong that i kind of HATE callas?

;n_n; (tehresa), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:11 (fifteen years ago) link

I'd say it's understandable; people liked her more for interpretation/spectacle than they did for "omg pretty voice"; she was kind of the template for Jane Eaglen.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:13 (fifteen years ago) link

guys, i think i may have seriously fucked my neck, and i'm not sure how. wednesday: woke up fine, about 30 mins later it was sore and got worse through out the day, jordan massaged it, slept fine; woke up thursday, it felt fine, 30 mins later it's seizing up again. massaged it again last night, slept fine. woke up this morning in agony and can barely turn my head.

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Sara, I know naught about opera as well. A bit about Opera though.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 7 November 2008 17:16 (fifteen years ago) link

it's not exactly my neck: it's kind of the tendon or something between my neck and shoulder.

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Stress? I often have issues there when stressed.

A socialist who's happy to spread the wealth (Susan), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:18 (fifteen years ago) link

I would try getting something like Ben Gay or Icy Hot and applying that to the area while lying down. If the problem persists into tomorrow, see a doctor.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:19 (fifteen years ago) link

this is where you make the disturbing discovery that you moved to a country that doesnt sell codiene over the counter

hahahaha

;n_n; (tehresa), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:23 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah jordan was shocked when i bought a codeine-based painkiller back in nz.

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:47 (fifteen years ago) link

i should have stocked up before moving here ;_;

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 17:48 (fifteen years ago) link

Justine, you've been carrying a heavy handbag or lifting too much. Rub Deep Heat into the area and wrap up warm.

Nieman Marxist (suzy), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

here's the thing: the pain started wednesday morning, BUT i spent the previous saturday/sunday toting round extremely heavy bags of books. is a delayed reaction possible?

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:20 (fifteen years ago) link

Absolutely, I've had phantom pains appear that were because of something I'd done 2-3 days previously.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:24 (fifteen years ago) link

i think some kind of previous strain plus perhaps sleeping oddly would do it.

;n_n; (tehresa), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

also: spent four hours sitting in front of the tv election night, on a couch that has 'roll-together'.

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:29 (fifteen years ago) link

I know the time for this is past but I just wanted to point out that Jussi Bjorling is OTM.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:33 (fifteen years ago) link

guys, my girlfriend lives w. me now. it is super-awesome, but i am more inclined to mopiness than before... is this normal?

remy bean, Friday, 7 November 2008 18:33 (fifteen years ago) link

Depends; does she try to get you out of mopiness via sexual favors? If so, then basically you're developing a Pavlovian response to become mopey whenever you're horny.

If not, then you probably are just missing some amt of personal space.

Black Seinfeld (HI DERE), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:35 (fifteen years ago) link

girlfriend?!? details plz!!!! is this the girl you had the kind-of thing with before?

also: need further explanation of 'mopiness' before i can offer opinion.

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:40 (fifteen years ago) link

like, are you sad and unmotivated when she's not around?

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:40 (fifteen years ago) link

i am lolling at joaquin phoenix's BYE! GOOD right now

undiscovered cuntry (Rubyredd), Friday, 7 November 2008 18:41 (fifteen years ago) link

xp to RR - you can also rotate cold and heat (I know that cold is unpleasant, but if there's inflammation, heat can increase that). Have you taken any ibuprofen? Sorry about our lack of OTC codeine...

remy, I don't know whether to say congratulations or what, but I'm loving Dan's interpretation of what is going on... lol
