NOTE: The Marcello thread

Unless Marcello himself specifically asks me to shut that thread down, I (personally) am not touching it. Sometimes people get the threads they deserve.

Itd be nice if those of us who came in late, as it were, had some explanation as to wtf this whole thing is about. Is it some kind of "joke" betwixt marcello and some of the other london ilxors (and doomie)? Is it serious fighting? Is he really being angry or just taking the piss? The whole think reeks of weird. And Ive read some of the old threads and his Laura ones as well, and I still dont really get it :/ Maybe theres no point trying, heh.

(I'm not sure you're not better off not knowing.)

Not?

Dan, I'm asking you specifically to shut that thread down, and preferably delete it. Sometimes people help to write the threads they deserve. I certainly didn't start the thread and even more certainly should have resisted the temptation to contribute to it. It is not something by which I want to be remembered. I just want to draw a line under the whole sorry business of me on ILx last week in general.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 24 May 2004 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe you can just delete the "last week" from that last sentance and be done with it.

not really here, Tuesday, 25 May 2004 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Try learning to spell before you criticise your betters.

Actually why the hell should I make any excuses? You're not on my side Dan, you never have been and you never will be. Take your patronising sub-Sarah Lawrence weekends-in-the-Hamptons bullshit and shove it. Don't you dare tell me what I deserve.

Enjoy the privileged life you're going to live. Another capitalist, just what the world needs. Bye.

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 26 May 2004 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

WTF???

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

The people who deserve that thread are the assholes bending over backwards to make themselves look like dicks by ranting at you but feel free to be a defensive asshole. Fuck off.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:47 (twenty-two years ago)

SPECIFICALLY that was aimed at Jess and Blount, in case you are still confused. The "Fuck off" still stands, though.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

dan you gotta admit that first post was easy to misinterpret. i read it vis a vis marcello too till i scrolled down.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 27 May 2004 03:22 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, ditto.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 27 May 2004 07:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Logically speaking, why would I make a big deal out of only honoring Marcello's requests to moderate the thread if I was trying to call him out or insult him? How does that make sense?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 27 May 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

"Why should anything make sense?"

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 27 May 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Touche.

This round to you, Viscount Grout! (Dan Perry), Thursday, 27 May 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

ha ha sub-Sarah Lawrence.

bnw (bnw), Friday, 28 May 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still trying to figure out where "weekends-in-the-Hamptons bullshit" is reflected in the 8,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 dick jokes I've made on ILX.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 May 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

"hampton" = archaic cockney rhyming slang? "hampton wick" = "dick"?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 28 May 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought it meant vinyl record? As in "I'll just put on a Lionel".

Graham "Beaky" Beecroft, Friday, 28 May 2004 22:19 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a lot of dick jokes.
