What program would you use to make a "singing dogs" musics?

Most of the free software don't seem to have a feature to map a sample to multiple pitches for making
such a virtual dog or cat instrument.

no real asnwer to the ques, but i recall listening to the radio when ex-avalanches dj dexter picked his five favourite 'rooting songs' and one of them was 'a hard day's night' by the 'beatle barkers'. it was quite a thing.
