the funny thing is I don't think I have heard the U2 version of "my" track entirely yet (I've heard a snippet in a commercial for ipods or something) and right now, I don't remember at all how it goes !

I've heard about half the chorus of "mine". It goes "get on your boots your sexy boots" or something. Haven't heard any of the other U2 tracks.

ILX should do 1 of these a year.

But U2 only release an album every four years! We should e-mail Bono and get him to send us all U2's unused song titles so we can write piss take parodies.

Maybe whenever ILX Vol. 4 comes out, U2 can take our song titles and mock us instead with their own U2notILX project.

Yeah I didn't mean just U2, like I dunno, the new album by a big act that sucks and deserves the ilx treatment. Red Hot Chili Peppers for ilx2010?

That's a good call. RHCP are probably the only other band/artist that ILX cares about enough to want to do this. In an interview Chad said it would be coming out October 2010. It's a bit far off but OTOH we'll have more time to prepare. And if they release another double album (the previous one had 28 tracks) then more people can get involved.

The only one that sort-of catches my eye that is going to be released soon is Goldfrapp (release scheduled for 23rd March). But there's no track listing yet. And they're not really in the same league as Bono in the "desperately needing a kick in the pants" department. But if people still want to have at U2, then "Songs of Ascent" is due for mid 2010 release. Recorded at the same time as "No Line..." just the title says that it's going to be full of ripe Bono-isms.

n/a may have had some fun at my expense yesterday, but coincidentally, what's just turned out to be his No Line On The Horizon track came on my iPod Shuffle recently and I'd forgotten what it was...thought I maybe had some A+ rad Brian Eno thing, and was completely taken with it...so, dude, in the spirit of reconciliation, you made some good music
