maybe this got lost in the sauce but will you ask tom if he can send a 320kbs version, dan?

鬼の手 (Edward III), Monday, 2 March 2009 03:57 (fifteen years ago) link

I asked, haven't heard anything back yet.

Lots of praying with no breakfast! (HI DERE), Monday, 2 March 2009 04:03 (fifteen years ago) link

I hope that when U2 hears this they all get on a messageboard and debate for 300 posts about whether it is any good

鬼の手 (Edward III), Monday, 2 March 2009 04:20 (fifteen years ago) link

Great melodies, but you're all wankers. And dysfunctional cretins.

"Magnificient" is just that.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 2 March 2009 04:42 (fifteen years ago) link

I would like to take this moment to thank n/a

if it were not for him we would all be posting to wdyll, suggban, and rolling ringtone threads right now instead of enjoying sweet ilx jamz

鬼の手 (Edward III), Monday, 2 March 2009 04:51 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay I'm working my way through this comp again and Snoball's "Get On Your Boots" is heavily, heavily classic.

Still More Goth Than Your Cat's Asshole (Bimble), Monday, 2 March 2009 04:53 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah, I like its quasi-foetus everything and the kitchen sink approach, plus it rocks

鬼の手 (Edward III), Monday, 2 March 2009 04:58 (fifteen years ago) link

so I've been messing around with fairtilizer, looks like I can upload the individual tracks and create a streaming playlist out of them

one weird thing is it asks for a country for each track (wtf?)

I've been putting US for everybody, if this offends you please let me know what country you would like to be affiliated with

or maybe I should just make them all ireland lol

鬼の手 (Edward III), Monday, 2 March 2009 04:59 (fifteen years ago) link

I just finished listening to the Snoball track and I was in tears. Sides aching, paralytic laughter -- I was trying to imagine U2 actually doing that at the Grammys.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 2 March 2009 05:02 (fifteen years ago) link

can someone re-paste the tracklist w/ contributor names

haw i did very little work for this thing and am indebted to you and others for staying on my ass and making sure it actually got done because otherwise it would have just dwindled into the ether

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 2 March 2009 11:30 (fifteen years ago) link

i saw dan linked to this from the U2 thread but maybe we should start a new thread to officially release the album today, since the U2 album comes out tomorrow

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 2 March 2009 14:58 (fifteen years ago) link

I like that idea; we should also link it all over the place.

does this man not understand the urgency of release dates lol

鬼の手 (Edward III), Monday, 2 March 2009 15:49 (fifteen years ago) link

I have snoball's 320kbs version now.

I've uploaded all of the tracks to fairtilizer except tom's, aleXTC's, and nabisco's. if I don't get anything in the next 5 hours or so I'll just upload the ones I have and put the link to the streaming version here.

that's weird, I thought uncompressing zip files was native to PCs & Macs now?

you could probably just download a trial version of some other software like winrar and unzip it.

also, streaming version will be up later today.

dude just right click and "extract here" instead of actually opening up the winrar software. i had the same problem but that trick lets you bypass paying for it until god knows when

without knowing you were on this i just clicked to download on Demonoid.

It's a sign!

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 3 March 2009 06:18 (fifteen years ago) link

hahaha

In further news, Tom basically said "my DSL is crappy so fuck a 320 kbps". Want me to try twisting his arm?

Lots of praying with no breakfast! (HI DERE), Tuesday, 3 March 2009 17:13 (fifteen years ago) link

This is awesome!

jel --, Tuesday, 3 March 2009 17:27 (fifteen years ago) link

tell tom to stop whining and just send the goddamn file, the response should be lulzy

I'm not trying to be the bitrate nazi here, it would just be cool if we had 320kbs from everyone. you, elvis t, snoball + m bison all resubmitted 320kbs versions, I haven't heard anything from AleXTC or nabisco.

if I get any additional 320kbs versions I'll upload 'em to fairtilizer, and if by a miracle I get all the tracks at 320kbs I'll reup a new version to sendspace.

鬼の手 (Edward III), Tuesday, 3 March 2009 17:44 (fifteen years ago) link

Guys, shall I host this on my helpful webspace?

Mark G, Wednesday, 4 March 2009 11:17 (fifteen years ago) link

Is your site the one where the ILX comps are archived? Speaking for myself I think it would be a good idea.

snoball, Wednesday, 4 March 2009 11:40 (fifteen years ago) link

That's the one.

Mark G, Wednesday, 4 March 2009 11:41 (fifteen years ago) link

Personally I say go for it. Although you might have a lot of enraged U2 fans e-mailing you when they download it and it's not U2!
