Ok, the topic of jean sagging is complicated and fraught with opinions and controversies, but I'm seeking straight-up facts because I genuinely know very little about it. If I sound clueless and out of my element, I am. I'm probably gonna get at least one FP for this, but here goes.
For the purposes of this question, I'm going to use "sag" to refer to sagging completely below the ass, baring the entirety of your underwear-clad butt. Entire-ass sagging; not like "your jeans are a little loose" or "we can see the waistband of your underwear".
I don't spend a lot of time around people who sag. Most often it would just be maybe passing by someone on a sidewalk briefly or something like that. It doesn't really register with me.
Last night I was with my family at the roller rink. We're regulars there. The demographics of the rink are usually between 40 - 75% Black skaters. I only bring that up because both roller skating and sagging have Black cultural implications and I want to acknowledge and respect that. This is not about any of them - in my experience, I can't think of any skaters there sagging heavily. At least I haven't noticed. Wouldn't usually care.
This is about a white guy, early-to-mid 20s. Now, I'm here on a night that's not one of my usual nights, so I don't know if he's a regular, but I've never seen him around before. He's tall and distinctive looking and really stands out. Anyway, at some point, my wife sees him skating directly behind our daughter with his hand down in his crotch area. She was incredibly alarmed about it. To her, it looked like he was ogling our kid and getting his jollies. Wife quietly diverted her to a different area of the rink and told me about the issue. So I agreed to just keep an eye on him.
I'm watching the guy, and sure enough, the rest of the night he's totally skating around the rink, regularly grabbing at his crotch area. I am not looking close enough to see if he's actually fondling his genitals, but it really does look like it! Hand is repeatedly going down below his waist and grabbing. I think of three possible reasons why he is doing this: 1.) he is a crazy pervert and rubbing himself like a monstrous sex pest. 2.) he has itchy genitalia for some reason and is grabbing himself for relief. or 3.) he is trying to hold up his pants while skating.
Now, #3 really seems like the Occam's Razor answer to me. It makes the most sense. This dude is dressed inappropriately for the activity he's engaged in and he's trying to avoid a wardrobe malfunction. My question is: can someone more familiar with the art and mechanics of pants-sagging confirm to me if that sounds right? Like "yeah, if you were dressed in that style and trying to move around semi-athletically, you'd need to grab at the front of your pants an awful lot to keep them up."
I'm so sorry for bothering ilx about this. I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot. I apologize for the breathlessness of this post. I was considering trying to find an appropriate place to ask this on reddit, but that seemed like an even worse idea.
