All killer, no filler - make a so-so album into a kickass EP

I've found myself making quite a few custom playlists to do this lately - trimming away duds and songs that don't fit, tweaking the running order, occasionally adding a stray b-side released at the same time. What albums are good candidates for this? Track listings too, please.

Looking at my AC post upthread, I can conclude that the best logical step for the album after Centipede Hz would be an ambient record.

David Bowie - Young Americans

Young Americans
Win
Fascination
Right

That thread is hilarious. Needs some blink tags as well.

Damn, knew it had to have been done before. Didn't think to search for 'LP'.

Also, careful with your strikethrough tags, kids.

not classics but...

Teenage Fanclub - A Catholic Education:

Everything Flows
Catholic Education
Too Involved
Critical Mass
Every Picture I Paint
Eternal Light
Everybody's Fool

Butthole Surfers - Piouhgd:

Revolution, Pts. 1 & 2
Hurdy Gurdy Man
Blindman / No, I'm Iron Man
Something
P.S.Y.
Barking Dogs

that only cuts about 10 minutes of throwaway garbage off piouhgd, but it turns a disappointing album of standard length into a good short one.

i tend to do this a lot on my itunes library, and untick the songs that ruin the album for me. it tends to be the odd song rather than a whole bunch, though.

Sum 41 - 7 Series: All Killer No Filler

allmusic: Sum 41's entry in Island/Universal's 7 Series is a seven-track version of 2001's platinum disc All Killer No Filler. Six of the album's tracks have been removed, albeit somewhat randomly, leaving 20 minutes of peppy punk-pop and one great hit single, the infectious "Fat Lip."

1. Nothing on My Back
2. Fat Lip
3. Rhythms
4. Motivation
5. In Too Deep
6. Handle This
7. Pain for Pleasure
