Well, I've searched thoroughly for this and nothing relevant seems to have cropped up, sooooooooo...

I'd like to nominate the closing lyric from The Rolling Stones' "Midnight Rambler" here...

"I'll stick my knife right down your throat, baby... and it hurts!"

"What is the point of this story?
What information pertains?
The thought that life could be better
Is woven indelibly
Into our hearts and our brains"

the lyric that sticks with me the most is "Is it always like this?" from "Siamese Twins"

Oh yeah, agreed. I mean, it's not really that special a lyric when it's read cold off a piece of paper or a computer screen, but the way it's used to end that particular song (and I think, the end of Side One of Pornography?) is just great.

The Shangri-Las had some gems:

I don't think... it will ever... happen... again

She grew so lonely in the end the angels picked her for their friend
And I can never go home anymore
And that's called "sad"

Well, how does he dance?
Close. Very very close

I climb the stairs
I shut the door
I turn the lock
Alone once more
And no one can hear me cry. No one
