i wanted to post "just to cry"/keef hartley band but it's gone from utube. jazzy blooze track from the ex-john mayall drummer, sung by future savoy brown guy miller anderson. from the LP halfbreed. wondering if this outfit did anything else decent?

Just got sent a download of the new Baroness album, Yellow & Green, and it seriously might be my album of the year. Eighteen tracks spread over two CDs, they've totally abandoned any pretense of being an "extreme" (or even a "metal") band and embraced melody and boogie. There are straight-up disco rhythms on this, plus '70s prog/hard rock moves (the song "Cocainium" has a keyboard line Kansas would have nodded approvingly at) and clean vocals - some hoarse shouting, but no hoarser than your average Southern rock blooze-dude. No Cookie Monster shit at all, and lots of straight-up crooning (and vocal harmonies). Seriously, this is a beautiful album. I'm hoping to write about it for Relix, of all places.

Meanwhile, – holy crap, new Horisont record. Swedish 70s throwback rock, on Metal Blade, came out of nowhere to kick ass and take names.

i don't know if xhucx or anyone remembers an old pop metal glam bandc called Vain but they have a new album out and it's pretty good
they had an old album called No Respect that I think is one of the most underrated hair metal records
