I thought I kept getting the David Guetta advert because Spotify looked over my playlists and found one of his songs (just one, I swear). Didn't realize everybody was getting it....

remember when john maus had an ad on spotify :-(

So are Spotify ads and recommendations so terrible because they lack the programming flair to target these better based off of your listening preferences or are they purposefully bad to goad you into getting that subscription?

That small blonde child named Cody -- I don't see his ads anymore, but I hate him retroactively because of his spotify ads interrupting Harold Budd

off topic, but:
"Heading out to the country this weekend? Or traveling abroad?" AAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHH...NO, I'M NOT!

Why do I have to pay $60/year to not be reminded how boring my life is?

john. a resident of chicago., Monday, 12 September 2011 16:51 (twelve years ago) link

pretty sure you would do that anyway, unless you never buy anything

It's absolutely worth $10.

billstevejim, Monday, 12 September 2011 16:55 (twelve years ago) link

I chose the $5 option after a few hours of the ads. I don't know how you put up with them.

I want to get my 70+ dad to try Spotify, but I know he'll quit after the first ad.

Pearl Jam!

I thought Eddie Vedder had gone on record refusing to prostitute his Art for ad revenue (well it seems like something he'd say...). I will never listen to "Green Disease" the same way again.

to be fair, ad was for the upcoming 20th anniversary PJ documentary, so maybe the band had nothing to do with it

do musicians no longer know how to self-promote via their voice? or do i just think these people (lady antebellum, david guetta and john maus so far) sound like douchebags?

SHOWING WHAT YOU'RE CURRENTLY DIGGING

runaway (Matt P), Monday, 12 September 2011 22:39 (twelve years ago) link

Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper" weirdly makes sense in the context of the Bob Pollard oeuvre. (Not so Gavin DeGraw.)

bentelec, Wednesday, 21 September 2011 03:53 (twelve years ago) link

going unlimited was the best thing I've ever done for my workday listening pleasure.
no looking back.
