markers, Saturday, 1 January 2011 16:42 (2 years ago) Permalink

slick mahoney is prob my least favorite TJ member, but glad nonetheless that the jeep is ridin again

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2011 17:53 (2 years ago) Permalink

flynt flo$$y cameo is quality

gr8080, Saturday, 1 January 2011 19:50 (2 years ago) Permalink

this is way more quality than the other slick mahoney joint

tears of a self-clowning oven (The Reverend), Saturday, 1 January 2011 21:57 (2 years ago) Permalink

i still haven't had a chance to listen to this btw

i think "sex syrup" is kind of a jam -- obv it couldn't pass as a real artist's song, not just cuz of the lyrics but obv how much of a prince rip it is, but as a parody song i think it works well

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2011 21:58 (2 years ago) Permalink

I think TJ are their best the closer they hew to the line of plausibility, not that any of their songs have reached that line (this is a good thing, if they ever did, the whole schtick would fall apart). But a couple of their songs, in which category I would place "Sex Syrup", are a bit too openly goofy for their own good.

tears of a self-clowning oven (The Reverend), Saturday, 1 January 2011 22:02 (2 years ago) Permalink

i agree w/ that last part -- i guess i was saying that i find the song to be pretty catchy & since it's obv a parody it doesn't matter to me how much it rips prince

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2011 22:04 (2 years ago) Permalink

your post is why i think "cavities" is almost as good as "lemme smang it"

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2011 22:04 (2 years ago) Permalink

btw I kept the jeep ridin' by buying an mp3 of "Lemme Smang It" off amazon yesterday

tears of a self-clowning oven (The Reverend), Saturday, 1 January 2011 22:04 (2 years ago) Permalink

i bought one off itunes the other day

i always tune out the other songs halfway thru :(

"cavities" is the totally the "smang it" of r&b

J0rdan S., Saturday, 1 January 2011 23:19 (2 years ago) Permalink

yeah but the beat is more grating

lyrics is weak ... like clock radio similes (deej), Saturday, 1 January 2011 23:21 (2 years ago) Permalink

Bought the whole collection of iTunes and I love it. "Stretchy Pants" is one of my favs though. Flynt Flo$$y just kills it in that one. "Go Grab My Belt" is a serious jam. That scene in the video when the explosions go off behind him is so incredible it makes me upset they didn't just do that every chorus.

IMO this is way better than stuff like The Lonely Island because it sounds like stuff black people might actually listen to.

gotta love how most TJ songs reference other TJ songs

"Go Grab My Belt" was always my favorite but I thought that "Why I Gotta Wait?" had the "best since Smang It" label

frogbs, Monday, 18 February 2013 20:22 (4 months ago) Permalink

this video is also easily the funniest thing they've done since smang it

J0rdan S., Monday, 18 February 2013 20:23 (4 months ago) Permalink

well it does have hands down the hottest girl to appear in any TJ video

frogbs, Monday, 18 February 2013 20:24 (4 months ago) Permalink

ya their taste in round the way girls is damn near sublime

still love she out of 'why i gotta wait' the best but these new ones run very close

r|t|c, Monday, 18 February 2013 20:30 (4 months ago) Permalink

i cant stop laughing at the scene where flynt says "I know of 3 dudes that fertilized them eggs" and it shows three guys, of which two are clearly the same person

frogbs, Monday, 18 February 2013 20:32 (4 months ago) Permalink

not like "oh it's the same guy with a comedy moustache, lol", just straight up same person with a different color shirt on
