Avant freak-pop legends The River Otters continue to surprise with their latest release. Good luck tracking this one down, released only on locally sourced wax cylinder. Burt Bacharach on DMT for the Deathset. Let their piano laden rhythms pour over you like molten quartz deep underneath where even worms fear to tread. You heard it here first.

windham hill revival 100% underway, theres been enough chat on here anyway.
there was also review in the wire 2009 rewind issue (last one i actually picked up) where they jokingly refered to this kind of doomy new-age as 'windham hell' so youre way late on that.

ILM, I apoligize.
There's a million ways in which I could have avoided this. A subscription to The Wire. Subscribing to Gorilla vs. Bear's RSS. Checking Pitchfork just a few more times a day.
I failed to take the appropriate steps to inform myself about the Windham Hill revival and now I am facing the consequences of my actions.
In retrospect, I think I wanted to get caught not knowing that Salem had sampled "Oh Holy Night"...it was a cry for help from a man whose life had gone far beyond his control.
I'm not going to make excuses. These events happened solely because of my inability to know that a Windham Hill revival was already underway. The resposibility is mine and mine alone.
I'd like to apologize to tylerw and josh/via/chi, two good posters who unfortunately were caught up in the events that stemmed from my initial statement. I hope that this does not reflect poorly on them in the future.
Right now, I'm going to take some time to focus on my family and my mental health right now. I also need to get back to my Buddhist faith.
Thanks for those who have sent emails of support in this time of crisis, it means more than you know.

Oneohtrix Point Never "Young Beidnagha" CDR on Rural Faune. People really love this band, and their releases are super-collectible. This band can be found on Pitchfork.com
This is in unplayed condition. Was reissued recently in a tiny batch, but this is the original version, catalog #62. Only 60 or something copies of this were made.

Winwood song is good, and the video is actually strange, not ironically so. Worth clicking IMHO. Whiney OTM too, actually sheds some light as opposed to ONLY needling the "genre". I am perhaps biased, as I am on boat with the general exasperation surrounding this shit.
