Simple thread really.

Heard 'Jim Cain' by Bill Callahan for the first time this morning, it's been getting pure rewinds. Sub question: where to go next with him/smog after Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle?

last song that made me go 'wow!' on the first listen: 'effigy' by converge.

A staggering number of songs by Tom T. Hall. I'd managed to overlook him until recently and am cursing myself for it. Tracked down some of his prime albums and song after song are floorin me and the ones that don't creep up eventually and I wonder how and why I wasn't paying attention. Started with a 'wow!' five-streak beginning w/ track 1 side A of this album:

The next-to-last wowser-song was Johnny Cash and the Carter family( from'64) ' Brown eyes'
the one before that was Hank Jr.'Every Time I Hear That Song'
and the one before that was Jefferson Airplane 'High Flying Bird'
and the one before that was 'Là ci darem la mano...' from Don Giovanni
