They're doing one show in Memphis & one in Detroit + some European shows. anyone seen the Oblivians reunion shows? I love em, but it would be the Gories I'd be most curious about.

Gories must play "Hey Hey, We're the Gories"!

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 04:53 (fifteen years ago) link

man I would see the hell outta some Gories.

Splendid news! No details on the European shows that I can find yet, be great if people can pass on info here.

I dearly hope Mick and co. can bring this thing down to the Tote in Melbourne.

i think i would

I haven't decided yet, but I'm erring towards no. Would love to see the Gories & the Oblivians but don't know any of the other bands and it's in Nottingham.

I'm guessing that's not The Others with the guerilla gigs and the deeply dislikable fanbase there. Very odd festival that, frankly...

Detroit was incredible. INCREDIBLE.

Mick's noise shredding during "Ghost Rider" was just nuts

i saw them saturday, it's pretty good. gories to me are one of the coolest looking bands of all time so seeing them older and less cool was not going to blow my mind obv. but they sound real good, dan doesn't sing quite as much and his voice isn't as smooth and deep. the dirtbombs dude picks up the slack, & sings lead on most tunes which is an ok compromise

young monet (samosa gibreel), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 19:26 (thirteen years ago) link

How much "older" are we talking here

Anybody seen Danny and The Dar-leans play yet? Gories/Demolition Doll Rods dude Danny Kroha's new band. looks fun, pretty basic good time detroit rock n roll. He's also got a solo acoustic blues record coming out on Third Man that looks amazing.

The Gories finally made it to London last night. Mick's guitar was ear-splittingly loud, I actually wished I had earplugs at some points. Not ringing too bad today though.

Now we just need to get the Oblivians over here.

Just noise and screaming and no musical value at all. (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 29 July 2015 11:53 (eight years ago) link
