We had a poll about this.

"Ban polls" lost

Mark G, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 12:34 (5 years ago) Permalink

so no real discussion then?

mully, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 12:38 (5 years ago) Permalink

why don't we have something like "no poll november?"

then it'll fail after five days and we can forget this idea.

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 13:20 (5 years ago) Permalink

JUST A REMINDER - YOU CAN CHECK "HIDE POLLS" IN PREFERENCES

mully, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 13:32 (5 years ago) Permalink

no, seriously...ILM has been in ruins for years.

JN$OT, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 13:35 (5 years ago) Permalink

it's pretty appalling in general, yes. unfortunately the battle is lost.

haitch, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 13:37 (5 years ago) Permalink

i know. i used to love it here. but why bother anymore? it may not be the fault of the newbies. they are the best they can be.

no.

it is the fault of the FUCKITS.

mully, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 13:43 (5 years ago) Permalink

or maybe the FUCKWITS even...who knows?

mully, Tuesday, 25 September 2007 13:45 (5 years ago) Permalink

if it were up to the ILX electorate to decide between polls and ol' mully, I have a feeling mully would be the one getting voted off the island

1 year passes...

There are 17 polls on the ILM new answers page. Time to reconsider this again. Maybe limit every user to five new polls per month or something?

I dunno, these idiot BAND A versus BAND B polls are, well, idiotic.

These polls where the options are the tracks on In Rainbows have to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen on the internet.

What bit of the term "Hide Polls" don't any of you understand?

Sloblock. I don't want to ban polls, or hide them, I just want there to be less of them and them not to be so inane as Band A vs. Band B

Ich Ber ein Binliner (Tom D.), Thursday, 16 October 2008 09:14 (4 years ago) Permalink

Weird how polls on ILE are mostly imaginative and generally classic and ILM polls are like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Matt DC, Thursday, 16 October 2008 09:17 (4 years ago) Permalink

There's comparatively few on ILE.

Hmm, wonder what the ILTMI ones are like...

Mark G, Thursday, 16 October 2008 09:19 (4 years ago) Permalink

BAN POLOS - nobody should be making a mint in these times of global recession!

If there are so many polls, apparently it means most ILM users want them. If they irritate you, you don't have to read them.

Tuomas, Thursday, 16 October 2008 09:23 (4 years ago) Permalink

MLamar, Xmas special..

Wurzels and Bad Manners doing the intros.

No great surprises or funnies from the panel, but hey! Bad Manners are pretty damn tight.

They launched into "Black Night" Deep Purple, and everyone was like "Hell, let's sack the quiz and watch THEM!!"

Well, I was...

Last week's was rather good. Stephen Fry was guest captain and pretty much pwned the programme and Amstell's appalling new haircut.

A. FIND MISSING LINK B. PUT IT TOGETHER C. BANG! (Marcello Carlin), Thursday, 16 October 2008 11:07 (4 years ago) Permalink

yes.

When the eshow started all those years ago, I quite liked MLam, by the time of the last series he did I was "No! Shoot him now!!"

Now? It's worth watching again. Which is nice. (Agreed, Last weeks was good, and I and my wife watched it from different parts of the country, usually she can't be ebothered with it...)
