umm, me neither - until now! WTF, there's something really endearing about this. I only know a few of their songs, never made that much of an impression, and I know they were a musical punching bag/punchline for most of their career (including being the possible inspiration for Spinal Tap). Anyway, maybe Scott or Chuck can offer insights. Anyway, fuck the haters, this Rocks in the best kind of Tolkien/Art Rock/Metal/Hippie hybrid kinda way.

Is this that one clip of "The Wizard"? I assume so. I haven't even clicked your link, but i've searched for the Heep enough times on Youtube to figger as much. it *is* a great clip. I just wish there was an equally great "High Priestess" clip, but what can ya do..

also, they just plain rocked -- if you listen to the Thain/Kerslake interplay. no need for your embarrased qualifiers; those performances of Gary and Lee (and of course Dave, and Ken) should be enough.
