Oct. 3 is the release date. Has the album leaked?

Anyway, it's supposed to be a "hip hop album" and he's released three or four internet videos to songs from the album. Anyone have anything to say about this?

I fear you may be disappointed if precedent has anything to say; the last track of The Secret Machines' latest album was called '1000 Seconds', so I put it on expecting a 16:40 epic masterpiece, only to find that it was actually only 5:15 in length. :(

There's a leak going around with six songs: I Think I'm in Love, Cell Phone's Dead (already posted on his site awhile back), Nausea, Strange Apparition, We Dance Alone and Motorcade.

I haven't heard any of it yet except for Cell Phone's Dead, which samples/reprises "Chameleon" and is a Pretty Standard Beck Song.

I heard 'Golden Age' this morning while eating breakfast in local foodery, and I do say: that track is gorgeous. Most Beck is teh suck, it is true. But the early early stuff, Mutations and 'Golden Age' will always be good. And maybe Mellow Gold, when I feel like becoming a 10-year-old again.

If I remember right, the cover is blank and the CD comes with a bunch of stickers. Arrange them however you want, as shown above.

Great cover. And props for mentioned "Diamond Bollocks," it's neat and it totally takes _Mutations_ from great to one of the best psychedelic records of all time. Alwayx wondered why he left it as a hidden track, but whatever, the man's got his own vision.

Wow, I'm actually enjoying these clips! Granted, I liked "Guero" and "E-Pro" on first listen but quickly got to the point where I felt no urge whatsoever to buy Guero... but these, I dunno, they sound interesting and textured in a way that feels like they'll continue to grow on me. The "Guero" tracks all felt like one-trick surface-over-substance ponies. Will there be a vinyl of this?

xpost: It's not a bonus track in Britain, and, as I've said, he hits us afterwards with the astonishing (easily the most out-there and uncharacteristic Beck track there is) Runners Dial Zero, which serves as an even apter (and just as psychedelic) album closer.

He clearly likes us more.

So the album was made before Guero and with Nigel Godrich. For some reason, I get much more of a Guero vibe from these songs than I do a Mutations or Sea Change, which were two of his best albums and produced by Godrich. I would love to hear more of that style, I'll take "Cold Brains" and "The Golden Age" over "E-Pro"...

THE HORRIBLE FANFARE/LANDSLIDE/EXOSKELETON is pretty tripped out and bizarre (in a good way). lyrically seems at least partly scientology-inspired (dark mutterings abt spacemen etc), though its still pretty opaque. i like the album so far.

This album is considerably better than I thought it would be. Superficially, it's not much different from Guero, except it's a little mellower, a little more electro, not as frat-anthemic.

I've only heard selected tracks so far, but I really like the song "I Think I'm in Love." The piano lightly jabbing over the chorus is a compelling moment, for me. The song has this retro-80s feel except for a 30 second bridge beginning at about the 1:35 mark, which sounds like the best parts of 70s soft rock (to me, at least).
