Did JC 000 (or whoever, although that does seem familiar) have any other records out?

I always liked how Toni Halliday would actually do the rap part during live renditions.
I'm listening to a boot of a 1998 show (must have been one of their last live shows) where Toni is doing this and it's completely ridiculous and awesome.

Man I totally forgot about this! I am so listening to Curve today.

shoegaze could have used a bit more rapping.

I always feel vague guilt that my Curve rips all reside in a shoegaze genre folder, because they deserve the label less than any of those contemporaneous UK noise-pop bands.

less than Swervedriver, even?

At the risk of sounding flippant, there are a lot GIS live photos showing Swervedriver staring at their pedals. Debbie Smith was a hyper whirvish who could have been spent a live show comfortably under a 4 foot truss, but its hard to say she was staring at anything...

As for specifics about his techniques and equipment, Garcia laughs, ”I’m giving away trade secrets here. It’s all quite grubby, actually. There’s an Eventide Ultra-Harmonizer, a couple of Akai 1100 samplers, a Morley Wah pedal, a bunch of delay units and Boss pedals, a Zoom box, some Flangers and EQs, and a DigiTech sweep thing that dips the pitch, which we use so the guitar doesn’t go out of tune. There’s a line of all of them, and then it goes into a Marshall.” As for the instruments themselves, Garcia plays his parts on an old Fender Jazzmaster guitar and a Music Man bass.

Can we have remasters of the debut and the Pubic Fruit comp, pleeeease?
― licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Thursday, 3 May 2012 12:44 (twelve years ago) link
why remasters?
― ┗|∵|┓ (sic), Thursday, 3 May 2012 14:31 (twelve years ago) link
Pubic Fruit is alright save the Blindfold EP, which had pretty lo-fi production values. Doppelgänger suffers more from weaker songs (than the EPs) than from mastering, but I think a remaster there would help a lot.
