the exact thing happens to me all the time!!!!!4

to wit: me in late 2000 telling everyone in town to go see the White Stripes at the local pub. no, say the so-called friends! we haven't heard them before! they are scary and new! they must = sux0r! we will stay at home and drink our horlicks in peace!

...and who now wanks on and on about White Blood Cells? yes. the bastards.

friends, huh, what are they good for? absolutely nothing...

This happened to be with both "Nevermind" and "Loveless" back when they were released. Hasn't happened since, though.

never happens. try telling people, man, you'll love this shit, but they never do (have you ever thought about Adorables career? man i really tried to sell that shit but people didn't want to know) been trying to pimp the other people place and random number, but just ain't happening. mind you, we'll all liked daft punk together and that. but ain't so sure about the global goon

this isn't related really (sorry, all my experiences of this that i can think of are boring/common) but when i was 14 i tried to be really secretive but i was still known for listening to really weird music...and somehow a boy in my class got the idea that i listened to tapes made by a guy who was in prison [it was actually one of daniel johnston's little homemade early eighties cassettes]. the boy really liked that song "black velvet" by alannah myles.

You're basically trying to say they can't change their mind? And that you're hipper than'em ey? ;-)

helen, when a majority of your friends are kid rock liking meatheads,, you'll try anything to get them to listen to someone else. and you know what, I am hipper than them. THanks.

don't talk music in pubs. especially in jazz and/or blues clubs. these people WILL fight for the last word.
