Who is Chris Dahlen and why does he write about music???

this is the story. it made the cover story on the front of the San Fransico Weekly...It is about me.

Someone must have Googled "Chris Dahlen" in image search and that was one of the pictures that came up.

I like how she claims the article is all about her. That's several times more egocentric than any of the spurned lovers -- I mean, musical collaborators -- that she rants about.

- I never posted to your corkboard, Marissa, and I don't have your phone number.

- I used the anecdote about the $1,000 album to explore the idea of album pricing, for a short piece that was aimed to SF Weekly's "Department of WTF?!?" - I had no idea it was going to be a cover story. My editor positioned it as a story timed to the announcement that iTunes would be ending their flat 99 cent price for downloads.

- I didn't interview Marissa because ... well, read this thread and the last one. But also, it's not a story "about Marissa Marchant," it uses a crazy story about an artist formerly named Marissa Marchant to explore another idea.

- It was not intended to insult Marissa. It's generally favorable, as her dad said, and all publicity is good publicity. I would imagine anyone who read the article would be extremely curious to hear her music, if any of it were still available online.

- I don't know why the SF Weekly people chose "a man" for their $1,000 album and "a woman" for the 99 cent album. I don't think it was meant to be a sexist gesture, but I can't speak for them.

- I don't look like Conor Oberst.

There is such a thing as Gang Bang ..cyber-stalking..which the media people who run Google and other things like wikipedia..decided if they think you are a Kook..someone who steps out of line and doesn't believe in their propaganda machine..they send many of their workers after you on the net to defame you.
