radio 1 dj, goes out from 7pm most weekdays. I hear him, sometimes, when driving home from work.

pro:

his manner is kind of amusing/lovable. It's like every record played is something you NEED TO KNOW ABOUT, he's kind of like a bossy schoolteacher, he barks out his spiel in this weird stentorian manner. It makes me laugh, plus I like his bizarre enthusiasm. I'd probably really like his show, but for:

con:

the music he plays is utter shit. Except once in a while he plays a decent metal track.

So I guess dud, really. You?

I'd like to skin him very slowly with a piece of dirty broken glass, then leave his twitching corpse out for the crows.

Don King of the Mountain (noodle vague), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:39 (twenty years ago)

What I would like to do, actually, is glue him into his seat, and play him "Godbluff" intil he FUCKING GETS IT.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:40 (twenty years ago)

Is Zane Lowe joking?

N_RQ, Friday, 23 September 2005 10:41 (twenty years ago)

YOU FUCKER!

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:41 (twenty years ago)

Don't play him the last track tho, that sucks (xpost)

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:41 (twenty years ago)

nayway. this is THE HOTTEST THREAD IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:42 (twenty years ago)

""""""""""he's the indie westwood"""""""""""""""

N_RQ, Friday, 23 September 2005 10:43 (twenty years ago)

Haha, somewhat predictably "Sleepwalkers" is my favourit... THE HOTTEST VAN DER GRAFF GENERATOR TRACK IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:43 (twenty years ago)

"The Sleepwalkers" fucking ROCKS you fule.

Don King of the Mountain (noodle vague), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:44 (twenty years ago)

Aha, Pash beat me to it.

Don King of the Mountain (noodle vague), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:44 (twenty years ago)

It blows chunks. You'll be telling me next you like "Meurglys III, the Songwriter's Guild"

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:45 (twenty years ago)

he isn't as funny as westwood though, and westwood plays better music*.

(* no great achievement, I grant you)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:45 (twenty years ago)

My VdGG love is blind and unquestioning.

Don King of the Mountain (noodle vague), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:47 (twenty years ago)

Does it fuck blow chunks. that bit at the end where it kicks of into that heavy organ/clavinet fucking rocks! Meurglys 3 is ok, 'till it gets to that sucky cod-reggae bit that goes on for ever and ever and ever.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:49 (twenty years ago)

I don't think I've managed to reach the end of either

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:50 (twenty years ago)

you crazies, what the fuck are you on about?

N_RQ, Friday, 23 September 2005 10:51 (twenty years ago)

I saw a scratchy vinyl of "Pqwn Hearts" the other day, £2.

Advice!

(Heh, like that one, not fixing it)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:51 (twenty years ago)

buy it?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:53 (twenty years ago)

It's currently going for a fiver on CD in Fopp, is my advice.

No idea about Zane Lowe; avoid R1 100% these days cuz i like broadcasters to talk to me not shout at me kthnxbye.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:54 (twenty years ago)

But warn your children first that there may be some scary noises emerging from Daddy's study for a while (xpost)

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:54 (twenty years ago)

Thanks for the purchase adv.#

Just as J.Cope was raving about it a while back on HeadHeritage, so I wondered.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:58 (twenty years ago)

j.cope = an unreliable narrator. Unless the album has the weird gatefold sleev, the £5 CD is a far better bet, really.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 September 2005 10:59 (twenty years ago)

Mrs Vague told me she hated "Every Bloody Emperor" the other week and I was forced to get all Ray Winstone on her ass.

Don King of the Mountain (noodle vague), Friday, 23 September 2005 11:01 (twenty years ago)

i feel my age right now.

N_RQ, Friday, 23 September 2005 11:04 (twenty years ago)

my, Chunks is a very lucky dog

john clarkson, Friday, 23 September 2005 11:05 (twenty years ago)

It does have the g/f sleeve.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 September 2005 11:05 (twenty years ago)

It pains me to admit it, Nick, but there is some slight resemblance.
