I'm seeing Mills at Cable on Saturday night...what should I expect? 4 hours of hard, 'proper' techno?

The last few years mills has been on top of game again after a period of losing his way a bit and being sorta generic

I fear Cable will be awful due to awful people, limited soundsystem and perfumed dry ice. The Shed album launch there with surgeon and made up sound thoroghly ruined by the catch all nature of the venue which featured crying girls, dudes with oakleys on their heads and stag dos with straight out of the packet shirts. Corsica studios was just about the best night of my musical life but that was purely because everyone was there to listen, not get laid

i actually just got a little tear in my eye after reading your blog post about it, magic stuff.

Ah...never been to Cable before, so cheers for the heads up. I'm reviewing it for a magazine so can't get too drunk etc.
If anyone from ILX is there, come say hi, I'll be the guy in the glasses stood rigidly on the side of the dancefloor all night trying to stay awake.

Just close your eyes and zone out, Im a miseryguts who can only enjoy himself in exceedingly controlled circumstances with fellow misery dwellers. Hes still doing some of the best work of his career so if you can rise above the great unwashed it will be great.

Yeah, Jeff Mills killed it, didn't make it to the end (was pretty much the only person in the room not gorging on pills like they were Polos), but damn, the man knows what sounds good on a massive system doesn't he?

yeah the crowd were monged but jeff was unstoppable. esp from 3am onwards

impossible to dance to for more than 20 minutes at a time, so relentless. when i saw him at least 2/3 of the crowd was just rolling out of their heads, standing stock still watching him work 3 tables like a maniac. great set, just way too hard and fast for me.

In a not-like-me-to-do-this-at-all move, I'm gonna revive this thread to post an interview I did with Jeff the other day. Hope ILX enjoy it:
