That's it. Drop me a line if you're interested.
If it matters to anyone, I'd recommend Oink over IndieTorrents, and I'll post here one more time when my invites are gone.

Also, to "TAKE A LOOK AT THESE HANDS," I've sent you an invite to both at the e-mail address you ouse for the board. If you also e-mailed me with a different address, you might have gotten two invites - let me know so I can cancel one (or you can pass it on yourself).

I'm not sure how many ILM type music obsessives you think there are in the world. I refuse to believe that there's this whole other music site with thousands of users constantly uploading interesting, rare music and none of us have ever heard about it.
The internet is big, but not that big.

anybody use torrentech?
― jermainetwo, Thursday, 29 November 2007 04:56 (eighteen years ago)
yeah, it's ok. i've found stmusic to be better (and i'm mostly into electronic stuff)
― jergïns, Thursday, 29 November 2007 04:57 (eighteen years ago)
has anyone managed to get into waffles or what.cd yet? i've found stmusic to be pretty lacking and libble just sucks.
― Bus Driver Stu, Thursday, 29 November 2007 05:25 (eighteen years ago)
stmusic's aiight for new music. old stuff is basically roulette. if it grows w/o getting busted it has oinkian potential.
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 29 November 2007 05:39 (eighteen years ago)
the brief glimpse of waffles i got recently was extremely disappointing, there was nothing there i wanted and i've got an extensive list that's been building up since oink went under. libble is lame, stmusic has a *little* bit. haven't checked out what.cd, it's my last hope!
― BATTAGS, Thursday, 29 November 2007 08:38 (eighteen years ago)
Anyone find that the what.cd 'freeleech' day basically means that the site is overloaded and unusable?
― James Mitchell, Sunday, 21 September 2008 17:36 (seventeen years ago)
Yes. That said - any recommendations for things to freeleech?
― Mordy, Sunday, 21 September 2008 17:39 (seventeen years ago)
Nope. It's a bit slower, but not unusable for me. The tracker seems to have little problems as well.I racked in some nice things today (Alvin Lucier and John Cage albums I couldn't find anywhere before, and some Steve Reich and Morton Feldman stuff I do own, but am too lazy to digitalize).
― Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 21 September 2008 18:11 (seventeen years ago)
im freeleeching the 46gb logic studio torrent
― update prefs (ice crӕm), Sunday, 21 September 2008 18:21 (seventeen years ago)
I find it kind of ironic how most ILXORs stay with the most "rockist" downloading site there is. :)
Soulseek is where all those with an "alternative" music taste stick. If you are looking for mainstream pop, you find more of it in Torrent sites or big Direct Connect networks. :)

There's no way of asking for an invite to any of the oink replacements without sounding lake a lame newbie ripe for ripping the piss out of, so I'm not gonna bother. Are any of them up the level that Oink was yes? What.cd and waffles and the such?
― The Wayward Johnny B, Monday, 22 September 2008 11:56 (seventeen years ago)
^^^ also want to know this
― zappi, Monday, 22 September 2008 12:07 (seventeen years ago)
Net yet, but they're on their way. I find myself using what more than waffles, also because the latter seems to be the most 'elitist' (eg. it won't show you the top tens if you haven't uploaded, i dunno, 25gb or something). what.cd seems to have more of my taste anyway. They both have contests every once in a while to get as many as possible up there. The number of albums is growing fast because of that.
If you strictly asked your question about the 'community' on those sites: je ne sais pas. I don't participate in the forums, polls or other stuff like that.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 22 September 2008 12:41 (seventeen years ago)
Net=not
what and waffles both have more torrents than oink ever did and better quality control and the sites work better particularly what - and theres two of them - kinda stingy w/the invites tho
― update prefs (ice crӕm), Monday, 22 September 2008 13:33 (seventeen years ago)
Tell me about the stingy invites. Do I need to know someone IRL who can hook me up, or does begging like a pauper on random websites have any effect?
― The Wayward Johnny B, Monday, 22 September 2008 13:39 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, come on, guys need to hook a message board poster up here.
― Carrie Bradshaw Layfield (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Monday, 22 September 2008 13:41 (seventeen years ago)
i think the Waffles crowd is younger than the Oink crowd. but then, i'm old and sensitive...
― nerve_pylon, Monday, 22 September 2008 13:41 (seventeen years ago)
begging on random websites is prob way to go - thats how i got mine - best is torrent sites where yr already a member in good standing
― update prefs (ice crӕm), Monday, 22 September 2008 13:42 (seventeen years ago)
btw i meant stingy abt the invites as in the requirement for members getting invites to give to other people is quite high
on what its like you have to have uploaded more than 25gb have a positive ratio and have posted at least one torrent - ive been on the site since it started and i just got to 25gb - and im currently ruining my ratio by downloading the rest of the logic torrent that i didnt finish during freeleech
― update prefs (ice crӕm), Monday, 22 September 2008 13:46 (seventeen years ago)
oh and for all that u only get one invite a month - to get more you have to be increasingly spectacular
― update prefs (ice crӕm), Monday, 22 September 2008 13:47 (seventeen years ago)
In the case of torrents, the best way to search is always to search Google for artist + title + "download this torrent".
