I'm posting this in a few places across the web and this seemed like a useful spot. I hear you guys like music.

As of May 9th, 2005, all of the following sites are live and have tunes available to listen to. Almost all of them allow you to download music to listen to at your leisure.

Here's the grand collection, organized by my own interpretation of their primary genre and alphabetically for easier reference.

I hope you'll forgive me an initial self link here as I modestly suggest that you might want to start your musical journey by dropping by MY SITE, the other home of this list, The Tofu Hut?

Th' Hut drops new posts regularly with scads of reference material and MP3s for your delectation; we also update this list with newly emerging musicblogs on the regular and cover the waterfront with all matter of silly linkage and news in all fields.

Al (sitcom), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:32 (8 years ago) Permalink

MP3 blogs only, my friend.
If you wanted a listing of blogs about music, I recommend DJ Martian's brilliant list.

Wow. I'm glad that you do this kind of thing, Tofu. I keep losing track. I haven't even heard of a lot of these sites.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 9 May 2005 20:40 (8 years ago) Permalink

I'm hesitant to add this, but: If you found this list helpful or if you enjoy Th' Tofu Hut, would you maybe consider donating a couple of bucks to the cause? The plan is to release v.2.0 of this list with short descriptions of each blog and interviews with the most prominent writers. Doing these sort of projects is laborious and time-consuming; any little bit can help.

mdieter, Tuesday, 10 May 2005 07:16 (8 years ago) Permalink

I haven't updated in roughly two weeks due to burnout over my whole approach to attempted MP3 supplying and write-ups, but I might rescuscitate it in the next week under a different format that will supply a few MP3s one day of the week and general musicblogging whateverishness for the remainder. Just so y'know.

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 20:56 (8 years ago) Permalink

MP3 blogs only, my friend.
totally misleading thread title! music blogs have been there before. and they used to be in plain text without any sound. ;-)

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 21:16 (8 years ago) Permalink

Really, I hate the term "MP3Blog" for a number of reasons (sounds lame, not all blogs share mp3's, easily outdated, etc.). I've been using the term musicblog, but I've been trying to make the switchover to AUDIOBLOG, which I much prefer.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Thursday, 12 May 2005 00:55 (8 years ago) Permalink

Yeah Audioblog is a good word for them.
