February 10 - Echo Lounge, Los Angeles, CA 12 - Crocodile Cafe, Seattle, WA

may i suggest a sunday afternoon matinee at the department of safety in anacortes? or perhaps sunday evening in Mt. Vernon at a laundromat? washers and dryers for a rhythm section? Or how about Bow-Edison's first real rock show, under Bow's statue?

Hm, next Thursday...LA FAP?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 31 January 2005 06:44 (twenty-one years ago)

see, in Seattle Luna play the 11th, the MGs the 12th, and Ted Leo with U.S.E. opening on the 13th. yeah, I'd say that's a pretty damn good weekend.

The Echo is a fun place. But he has abandoned ILX and I'm not sure I can continue to support him!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 31 January 2005 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

no SF show for some reason

kyle (akmonday), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

cool, the show starts at 8:30.

youn, Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i totally misread this as "Mountain Goats in Live Aid"

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:22 (twenty-one years ago)

haha I had a Live Aid party last week!

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:24 (twenty-one years ago)

it was at Kate Silver's place (she posts here sometime). Donut Christ was there, so was Martin M and Jen Nstop, plus a couple of others. it was fun! we watched it from beginning to end, exercising the option of forwarding through performances we didn't like. we condensed it from 10 hours to six. everyone should do this!

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:28 (twenty-one years ago)

The Mountain Goats rocked at live aid. I just can't believe John ever wore his hair like that. To see those old recordings now is just totally bizarre. He doesn't even look like the same guy.

martin m. (mushrush), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Not to mention him flying on a Concord jet from the UK to the U.S. in one day just to perform at both. what a man.

donut christ (donut), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:33 (twenty-one years ago)

writing songs and his weekly essay the whole time! it was insane! plus I loved how discs two and three of the DVD show/ed the plane in the air, signaling his travel.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:37 (twenty-one years ago)

no SF show for some reason

MUSIC WORLD NOT REVOLVING AROUND SF FOR ONE TIME SHOCKAH!

(teasing...)

donut christ (donut), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:38 (twenty-one years ago)

(of course, the moment I typed that, an SF show was probably added.)

donut christ (donut), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:39 (twenty-one years ago)

The Echo is a fun place. But he has abandoned ILX and I'm not sure I can continue to support him!

Aw, Spencer, he posted the other day! Seek ye the Rolling Metal threads.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:49 (twenty-one years ago)

really?! Cool, I'm there.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

haha

charleston charge (chaki), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 01:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Mountain Goats @ Farm Aid=even better! My tractor broke down on the way home, but totally worth it, esp. the jam with Willie, Neil, Mellen and Lou!

don, Tuesday, 1 February 2005 01:29 (twenty-one years ago)

bump. Also, hidden cameras the next day. Would a live show be okay for one's first exposure to their music? I'll be driving from OC, if anyone needs a ride.

youn, Monday, 7 February 2005 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes? :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I was only surprised by there being no SF show since it's inbetween the two and he is probably finishing recording the album here with Scott. But maybe not! I dunno!

kyle (akmonday), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, vahid, can you make it to this show?!

youn, Thursday, 10 February 2005 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Vahid, come up if you can! It'll be cool!

Plans are in place for LA show folks for a FAP at the Bright Spot diner just down Sunset from the Echo. Maybe around 8 to 8:30? The show itself starts at 8:30 and there are openers.

I've heard that the show is actually about to sell out sometime tomorrow morning, so if you're interested don't delay in getting tickets -- Ticketweb link.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 February 2005 03:08 (twenty-one years ago)

hey, Orbit & lolita corpus, do you think you might be able to make it to this show?!

youn, Thursday, 10 February 2005 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

hey, that's me. ok, i'll try.
woah ned, how do you what time it's selling out? i'm going to consult your psychic abilities for all my ticket-buying quandries.

lolita corpus (lolitacorpus), Thursday, 10 February 2005 06:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Inside information in this case -- not very applicable to the larger scale, I fear! Hope to see you tomorrow!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 10 February 2005 07:11 (twenty-one years ago)

hurrah! (xpost)

youn, Thursday, 10 February 2005 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

well, this is mighty convenient, isn't it! (probably deserves its own thread though, given the unique pairing, I'd think.)
