To be honest, I'm not interested in what you think of the club, so if you aren't a supporter of them then please keep your comments to yourself.

I think the club is a great deal, but I've got a few free selections left and I'm not sure exactly how to fill the slots. For those of you that use BMG, what are some of the best albums they have to offer?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 27 January 2005 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

It's been a long time, but I recall getting Sonic Youth, New Order, and a couple other bands of that sort from BMG.

mrjosh (mrjosh), Thursday, 27 January 2005 03:10 (twenty-one years ago)

black sabbath, tom waits, lots of jazz, zeppelin (maybe), try major label hip hop, lots of soundtracks (eg harder they come), jimmy cliff, sex pistols, ramones, clash, bob marley.....they actually have a ton of stuff on bmg, you just have search around.

Lingbertt, Thursday, 27 January 2005 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

peggy lee, stooges, mc5, patsy cline, donna summer, bing crosby, sinatra, tropicalia 2, antonio carlos jobim, astrud gilberto, getz/gilberto, modest mouse, elvis costello, elvis presley, sparklehorse, david bowie, daft punk, basement jaxx, prince, and on and on and on

Lingbertt, Thursday, 27 January 2005 04:02 (twenty-one years ago)

isaac hayes, curtis mayfield, isley brothers, barry white, run dmc, nas, 2pac, kelis eminem, missy elliot, outkast, t.i., jay z, ludacris, david banner, ying yang twins, mystikal, trick daddy, beastie boys, son house, muddy waters, rocket from the crypt, bob dylan, james brown.........maybe I should join again!

But aren't these clubs supposedly bad for artist royalties? Why is that? How are they able to pay a different amount?

There's probably a thread on this somewhere. I'll check.

Lingbertt, Thursday, 27 January 2005 04:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't even bother opening the email.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 10 March 2009 04:07 (seventeen years ago)

hmmm, yeah, i don't think so. I've actually gotten pretty good deals on jazz box sets from bmg over the past few years. as long as you get a free shipping code, they're a steal.

tylerw, Tuesday, 10 March 2009 15:32 (seventeen years ago)

wierd, i got that email too...would echo tyler's sentiments though, some GREAT deals at times...

straight up, you're payin' jacks just to hear me phase (M@tt He1ges0n), Tuesday, 10 March 2009 15:41 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, i think the reason i signed up was because at the time they were selling the Complete Jack Johnson Sessions for like $10. Wonder if there'll be a bunch of clearance stuff in the upcoming months ...

tylerw, Tuesday, 10 March 2009 15:52 (seventeen years ago)

getting ten cd's at a time in the mail when i was maybe 12 from these guys was one of the best things ever.

See you dudes on the G train (rent), Tuesday, 10 March 2009 15:58 (seventeen years ago)

wow, pour one out, I probably have gotten 1/4 of my cds from bmg. Recently, yeah, Miles box sets were dirt cheap from them. I wonder if I can sign up again now just for old times' sake, before the gold runs out for good.

Euler, Tuesday, 10 March 2009 15:58 (seventeen years ago)

To get the 5 CDs for the Price of 1 offer, enter the promotion code "M9X5" in the box on the left side of our website's homepage and click "apply." But hurry! Promo code is only good until 3/16/09!

Bee OK, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 00:43 (seventeen years ago)

I still get the emails, haven't ordered anything in years. Looks like time for one more spree.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 13:52 (seventeen years ago)

the 5-for-1 is hard to take full advantage of if you want a multidisc title. in cart right now:

Blondie
Parallel Lines (Deluxe Collector's Edition)
2 CD $24.98

Peggy Lee
Black Coffee (Master Edition - Remastered)
1 CD Free

Pet Shop Boys
The Hits - Pop Art
2 CD Free

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 15:28 (seventeen years ago)

yeah there's always goofy things going on with multi-disc/box set items. i find the only way to go is to wait around for free shipping and 65% off. otherwise you end up paying these sort of inflated shipping rates.

tylerw, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 15:31 (seventeen years ago)

when does free shipping come around?

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 15:32 (seventeen years ago)

try M9P1 as a code ...

tylerw, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 15:49 (seventeen years ago)

oh wait, I have 3 free CDs to redeem too.

Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 11 March 2009 16:12 (seventeen years ago)

i think i'm going to fill up my David Bowie holes, which are way too deep.

Bee OK, Thursday, 12 March 2009 04:51 (seventeen years ago)

wound up paying $36 for 9 discs.
