2 brilliant albums then shit ! an average 3rd album , a completely different futuristic hippie sound on the fourth and not one decent chorus, a best of , a live set , a fifth studio album which sounded better and had a couple of good songs.
don't change the fomula, although the first one had a couple of bon jovi songs , a few motley crue songs, one acdc tune and a mr. big acoustic song and some others.

Different band on Creation circa 1984. The dude, "Slaughter" Joe Foster was in the TV Personalities and produced the first Jesus and Mary Chain single. This record sounds exactly like the JAMC:

Wasn't Mark Slaughter in later GI Joe episodes?
― Richard Wood Johnson, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 16:54 (5 years ago) Permalink

I ran out of gas once on I-25 in Georgia during a hurricane, and they picked me up and took me to the nearest gas station. No shit!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected to see the adjective "brilliant" used in regards to Slaughter.

Chicago Tribune
January 23, 1991, Wednesday, NORTH SPORTS FINAL EDITION
"Just think what great headlines we'd provide for the terrorists with a name like Slaughter," said rock 'n' roller Mark Slaughter in announcing that his band was quitting its European tour because of war-related threats.

I saw Slaughter in 1991. They dedicated "Fly to the Angels" to the men and women who defended our country in the Persian Gulf.
They also did that thing of substituting "Saddam Hussein" for "Chairman Mao" in their cover of "Revolution".
― pplains, Thursday, 23 August 2012 18:40 (9 months ago) Permalink
what did they rhyme it with?
― how's life, Thursday, 23 August 2012 18:46 (9 months ago) Permalink
But when you go carryin' pictures of Saddam Hussein/Don't you know that you're gonna look insane?
A lyrical construction that flowed off of Mark Slaughters lips like honey.

Go to 2:22 for another version of that line.
Also note huge American flag held up in back of the room while hair band sings "Revolution".

Perfect! It doesn't get better than that.

it was a real missed opportunity that this thread was not titled "does anybody remember slaughter?"
― some dude, Thursday, 23 August 2012 22:43 (9 months ago) Permalink
that's like when i saw Hairball, a tribute 80s metal band
and they did "Nothin' But a Good Time" by Poison and in the middle part they said "I make a toast to all of us/that's breakin' our backs every day/If you wear a towel on your head/THEN GET OUT OF THE USA"
