the cribs. i like it. it makes me think of what GbV might be like if they preferred new wave to 70s rock. "another number" is in my top five for the year.

how did this lot manage to piss in your cornflakes?

Ha ha, no, they didn't piss in my cornflakes. They did get me dumped once, but in the long run, it was the best thing that could have happened. They were involved in some very fun tour hijinx.

They are lovely boys and I heart them.

They're playing in Notting Hell next week, I hear, I might go and see them.

the album is a lot of fun. in a year that i've been incredibly disillusioned by, they've made my ears prick up once more.

I haven't heard anything since the early demos. Lost touch with them when they got signed and all. Man, I wonder how much blackmail I could get off them for their pre-Cribs shoegazing/C86 band's demo! Mwah hah hah!

I did indeed end up seeing them on Wednesday. They remain very lovely, very sweet. Very energetic set. I was too drunk to remember much except they managed to get nearly half the audience onstage with them.

I've been listening to In the Belly of the Brazen Bull a lot. Dare I say, that is one damn fine rock record. Much better than the one they did w/ Marr.

Yeah, I kinda like this new one. I never did hear that Marr one, never showed up in shops around here for whatever reason. Sounds like I didn't miss anything.

They strike me as an astonishingly clumsy band, especially the lurch the singer does into Kelly Jones style bellow. They seem to be held up as keepers of the rock flame these days which is weird considering they're so inept at it.
