I just saw them play 2 weeks ago. I paid $10 and stayed 8 minutes.
It was the first of a 2 show dealy, and they were doing improv sets with some NEW AGE dick wad. Fucking Awful!

Anyway, ROVO owes me $10 and seeing how JW loves them...the debt falls on you Jon Williams.

Where's my $10 Jon?

I like the mp3 that o. nate sent me, tho it does have some new age-y/acid jazz-y moments. Prolly wouldn't buy a CD.

JON I WAS AT THAT GIG! EY3 DJ-d for about 80 minutes prior to Rovo's set. Check my youknowwhereblog for more info.

"Horsess" somehow reminds me of Amon Tobin....

KoNuMu is pretty much a VCN Boredoms song.....

nine years pass...

Never heard of these guys before, but I'm listening to a song they did recently with Steve Hillage and System 7 that sounds pretty good, "Hinotori".

five months pass...

I haven't heard much since Tonic 2001, seems like they're still putting stuff out regularly though. Anyone into them?

frogbs, Thursday, 27 March 2014 02:50 (ten years ago) link

two weeks pass...

It's strange how little they're known here (especially given how big they are in Japan!). you'd think a lot of the prog/freak/kraut club would be into the man-driven trance thing. good lord do I wish other post-rock bands sounded like this (at least, on occasion!) - been playing Pyramid all week and it's like - 30 minutes where things build and progress normally, then 15 more as if to say "what if this just kept getting faster and more intense?". Reminds me a bit of the crazier bits of Magma records!
