Something about midnight star i want to know. It's about the heavy amount of synth work in the albums "NO parking on the dance floor" and "Inteplanet Invasion". I like to know what brands did they like to use in songs such as "Freakazoid" "Wet My Whistle" "Operator"
and "no parking on the dance floor."

I mean brands of keyboards and drum machines?

Amazing.

The very beginning sounds familiar, has it been sampled somewhere?

It's great. I first heard it in the Joakim RA Podcast years ago, just learned today it's (technically) by Boards of Canada.

No Parking on the Dance Floor is sounding pretty good this morning.

Total score today with the Midas Touch 12" single. The store here that usually sells high quality disco, funk etc. stuff, but where everything is insanely overpriced, had this for $25, I found it elsewhere for 10. :D

Is that the single with the 'European' Mix that's 12 or so minutes long?

would rather have the acapella / bassapella though. are they the same track but labelled differently?

brotherlovesdub, Saturday, 8 May 2010 03:53 (3 years ago) Permalink

Yeah, the acapella/bassapella (which I think are the same thing, either way it's bass + vocals) was adraw, so I could make mixes that sound like the hell interface track above :)
Sadly the B side sounds scratchy and be-surface noised lie nothing else :(

Incidentally I also managed to acquire a copy of the Hell Interface remix of Midas Touch on vinyl yesterday (a bootleg of sorts, though).

I was relieved of some cognitive dissonance a few days ago when I realized, at long last, that different groups were responsible for "Operator" and "Secret Lovers".
