Is it right for retail music stores to sell "Parental Advisory" CDs to minors in the absence of a parent?

Check out this webpage and talk with your family, PTA, church and friends. Your PTA might want to do a "legislative proposal" using this information... my son's middle school is doing so.

If I've told them once about selling our Joel those GG Allin DVDs, I've told them a hundred times...

Is it right for retail music stores to sell "Garth Brooks" CDs to minors in the absence of a parent?

Orphans should be able to buy what they damn well want.

In my family, children aren't aloud to say "Anne Murray."

Our alice (age 4) said "bloody arm" on trying to get her coat on. She got told by Dawn that that was a rude word, not for her to say. Alice nodded and added "ah. Just for Driving, then."

parental advisory stickers are damn joke anyway. What would you rather listen to uninterrupted artistry or blank spaces in the middle of a sentence. screw you tipper gore.

In fairness though, I can see the guy's point, fundamentalism and psychological studies aside. Mainly though, because albums with parental advisory on the front are often shitty.

i don't think stores should sell anything to minors in the absence of a parent. in fact, they shouldn't sell anything to anyone in the absence of a parent. think of how much easier life would be, how much less explaining you'd have to do, if you had parental approval from the start. "son, what's that stack of jenna jameson dvds doing under your bed?" "mom, you were there when i bought them, remember?" "oh yeah, right, carry on."

I fully agree that minors should get the shit hassled out of them when they attempt to buy stuff with a parental advisory on it, largely because they get on my nerves.

But how is a parent going to know what's actually on the CD anyway, from just looking at it in a store?

That's really down to the parent to research.
