I'm always in the market, cuz I go through that stuff FAST.

Current running hits include Base Jaxx "Lucky Star", Jay Z's "Dust Your Shoulder Off", Freeway's "Roc tha Mic", Underworld's "3-D Dinosaur Adventure".... Help, I need more!

Doesn't have to be brill, just tasty.

For running, try the Adult remix of Erase Errata's 'Marathon' (see, it's topical too)

two weeks pass...
Revive. I need some new music for this reason...

So far I've got on deck B Jaxx "Good Luck," Jadakiss "Knock yourself out," Lucy Pearl "Don't mess with my man," Throwing Muses "Bright yellow gun," Luna "IHOP" .. plus some Kiley Dean (are they ever going to release that record?) "Keep it movin" and "America," which kills me because it sounds a bit like Gainsbourg's "Bonnie and Clyde."

Any recommendations? Something more pop song structured, not a super repetitious dance tune (going running, I tend to lack patience).

look at why you run, do you run for fun, in which case some happy cheery music to help you enjoy the time passing, however in my case i train mainly to lose weight, and for this i find i need to invoke emotion, the best ones being sadly something along the lines of anger, to get u psyked and work through the barrier, might i suggest to anyone in a similar situation something along the lines of godsmack, or rage against the machine, deftones, drowning pool, prodigy? probably not so good for your state of mind, but makes for a kickass workout

One time in high school, for psychology class, a friend of mine did a test where he had like 3 people run a mile, and then on another day had the same people run a mile while listening to "Any way you want it" by Journey. I forget the results.

I don't know how this would work out for exercising (I don't do that) but Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine was making me drive crazy fast today. Or at least it felt like that.

Mickey (modestmickey), Sunday, 18 December 2005 03:53 (twenty years ago)

I have lots of drum n' bass DJ sets, most an hour long, that I throw on my iPod. I grab most of them from breaksblog.biz. It's great music to run and do weights to. Definitely keeps me motivated.

Norwegian death metal also does the trick for me. Not sure why since it should rob me of the will to live.

Lindstrom's "Where You Go..." is amazing for running. I ran a 5k in pretty good time while listening to it, even though I was out of shape. The beginning is perfect; the breathing is like a friendly reminder or like he commiserates with your pain. And then the ending is amazingly appropriate for a final stretch celebration-type sound.

Kiptok, Monday, 20 July 2009 02:01 (sixteen years ago)

i usually listen to underworld while i run 5k, 'dark train' and 'rez' are more than enough.
