Is anyone familiar with this guys' work?
I have a couple of CDs (Divine Radiance & Auspicious Healing), and it makes for very interesting, spiritual music, coltrane-esque. Unfortunately i've never heard this guy live or had the fortune to see him (especially unlikely since i live in the UK) - Has anyone seen him live?

Yes, and he's a little more edgy than on his recordings, although the Coltrane comparison holds (also reminiscent of some of the more eastern-tinged '60's work by Larry Coryell and Pat Martino). I believe that he lives out in the country and only rarely plays out. An odd touch to the experience of seeing him live is that he's often accompanied by Paul Schaeffer, the keyboardist in David Letterman's band and a long-time admirer of Munoz' work.

Schaeffer is on Divine Radiance, along w/ P. Sanders and C. McBee. Is 'Auspicious Healing' the one w/ Henry Kaizer and Marilyn Crispell? That's the best Munoz rec I've heard.

I really like him because I really like that kind of shreddin' psych-free jazz outness, but I do find the 'spiritual' aspect a bit wearisome over the course of a CD, and when he gets pretty or mellow its mostly yawnsome, like a bad late period Sharrock alb
