New Deutsch - German post-punk-ish comp

I liked the DJ hell EBM mix CD and all this post punk stuff, so is it a given that i'll like this...?

`New Deutsch,' compiled by Thomas Bär and DJ Hell provides the first extensive overview of early European Electro-Punk and New Wave music. `New Deutsch' documents over 24 carefully selected tracks from the first explosion of synthetic music in Germany. The Synthesizer was discovered by the then punk world and used as a practical way to produce music. This compilation from DJ Hell and Thomas Bar doesn't stop at genre borders, rather it lays together the most underground indie singles alongside chart hits of the early 80's. You've got nothing to lose. Some tracks are crap (Gleitzeit - Ich Komme Aus Der DDR), but overall it's a good comp.

BTW: Dopplereffekt's "Linear Accelerator" on Intl DJ Gigolos... WTF? It's good, but it's... er... not really Gigolo...

Not bad, but the double cd "Verschwende Deine Jugend" on Atatack is better; more obscurities, more punk.

Interesting, but it's not the "first" extensive overview of the Neue Deutsch Welle (NDW) scene, there have been many. The fact that this "mix" has nothing from the Zick Zack label makes it very incomplete as well. There are some good tracks on it though (particularly Pyrolator, Der Plan, Christof Glowalla, and Fehlfarben).
The "Es geht Voran" comps from Planet New Wave are far more comprehensive.
