which is weird enough because, what's the logic there, "oh, anything Sean Paul does right now blows up on the radio, so yeah, let's NOT have him on our record", and because Super Cat sounds just like SP on the song anyway, so people are going to think one of 2 things when they hear it: 1) "wow, this Super Cat guy is really ripping off Sean Paul," and 2) "112 probably wanted SP on their song and he turned their asses down".
ok, whatever works for them, fine. but after they made a big stink about working 'next level' type people instead of established stars, their 2nd single, "Hot & Wet", which was originally set to feature Joe Budden, is now on the radio with, um Ludacris. what the hell?

I kinda feel bad for the JB. I don't think his album lived up to the singles by a long shot, but it seems like he never really stood a chance of living up to expectations anyway, since half the press he got focused on the mixtape hype and positioned him as "the next 50", which is ridiculous for many reasons, not the least of which being that the White Boy he collaborates with isn't Eminem, and that his big personal struggle ("um, I used to do a lot of drugs, and now I don't") falls pretty far short of 9 bullets.
the bit about him on that Hip Hop Babylon special was pretty depressing, just because they were pretty blunt about his album quickly dropping off the charts and him going back to square one and getting to work on a 2nd album...which, if his rep isn't too hurt by the performance of this album, should do better, because really, with a few notable exceptions (50, X, Nelly), most of the big rappers of the past few years didn't blow up crazy right with their first album. but i digress.

but this is all immaterial, we need to talk about how 112 is on goofy and/or cowards, which is to say, people besides me need to talk about it here.

I have a theory that Super Cat only got the Star Trak deal because Pharrell's really into that song he did with Sugar Ray back in the day.

*see: the "Make It Clap" rmx video in which SP looks incredibly lifeless and uncomfortable in the outfits that surely label-appointed stylists made him wear, especially puffy coats that you just know his Caribbean ass isn't used to.

I'm wondering, was that Baby My Dolly before or after Party and Bullshit was on the Dr. Dre & Ed Lover Who's the Man soundtrack, because I can't remember which I saw first.

This is perhaps the wrongest statement of the day. "Frontin'" is a great beat marred and defaced by fucking horrible singing; I wish it had been a full-on Jay-Z track.

Actually, after hearing them sing together at the VMAs for about 5 seconds, I think they should have recorded this song with Chester from Linkin Park doing the falsetto singing because they both sang the "Beautiful" riff and Chester was about 8 million times better at it than Pharrell was, PLUS it would have been a total head-fuck (screamy-whiny Linkin Park frontman goes ghetto-smooth in year's most intentionally ironic single!).
