Rubberoom: where can I find stuff like this?

Has anyone here heard the Rubberoom album "Architechnology"? It's somewhat one-sided and overlong, but still sounds like nothing I've ever heard of. I was wondering, is there any other hip hop crew with a similar sound? Or are Rubberoom themselves planning to release new material? If there's anything like this relased, I want to hear it.

I got that album when it first came out, when it was out on 321 Records before they went belly-up.
It is one-dimensional, but that one dimension is pretty cool.
The production duo of Rubberroom is called The Opus, and they have an album out called "First Contact". It's got MURS, Aesop Rock, and some other emcees on it.
I haven't heard it, but you can get it at Barnes & Noble.com and probaly elsewhere. Let me know what you think of it if you decide to get it.

Sounds cool, according to AMG it even has Slug guest starring. I'll have to see if I can locate it anywhere in this small and distant country. I think the producers are mostly responsible for Rubberoom's unique sound, but I'm not sure whether it'll be the same without the MCs' (forgot their names) relentless flow and dystopian lyrics...

yeah, I'd love to hear Meta on some more tracks (he's the gruffer of the two). They are on a few Molemen (Chicago hiphop cre that they're a part of) releases, but I think those are impossible to find outside of Chicago.

scroll down, there's three Molemen EPs. Sandbox takes their sweet time getting around to filling orders, but they have a hell of a lot of hip-hop.

The first time I heard Rubberoom was one this compilation, I think it was called "Collision Course". Anyway, it had a track by Rubber called "Claimin' Victims", very scary stuff, there's these background shrieks which sound like a woman is being raped. Of course now it sounds like your run-of-the-mill Rubberoom track, but back then it blew my mind. I'm not sure whether the compilation is worth a buy, though, it has some decent tracks by Anti-Pop Consortium and Mike Ladd, but also some stupid noise tracks in the Alec Empire/Digital Hardcore vein.

Well, to me all that digital hardcore feedback breakbeat noise stuff (Alec Empire, 2nd Gen, Patric Catani, Techno Animal etc.) has always sounded like electronic music for metalheads. Too much noise, too little substance, and no groove whatsoever. Was the Scud track the drum'n'bass one? I kinda liked that one.

yeah I still really like this.
lots to like but the lil bit that always stuck in my head was the 1st couple lines of Meta's verse on 'Acid', the way his vocals volley with/against the beat is amazing.

Oh wow, this was like my first thread ever on ILX. I remember being really impressed by Rubberoom back then, but I haven't listened to it in 10 years or so... Still haven't found any other rap album that would sound quite like it, though. I ended up getting that The Opus album Oops recommended upthread, but it was mostly instrumental, and these guys' beats were a bit too simplistic to work without the raps.
