Just giving it a listen and it's very very good, more diverse than "Fog". Anyone else heard it?

I have it. mellower and less jarring than the first one, sounds like it could be a grower but I haven't played it enough yet to know

Cool! I liked the first album. I heard that the new one has more "songs" (like "Pneumonia" or the single version of "Check Fraud"), is that right?

"Tell me more! "

Me too!

Search: Andrew Broder Modern Hits EP - where the man behind the Fog matches famous/not so famous acappellas from Nas, Jay-Z, MF Doom, Edan to acoustic backing, bootleg style.

It does, in fact, have more songs. Major development from the 1st album. "What A Day Day" has been stuck in my head since I first heard it, and I don't mind at all.

The single for "What A Day Day" has a remix from Why? of Anticon which does justice to the loveliness of the original.

Single is out April 22, album is out May 6 (US and Canada anyway)

first post, hi.

Hi.

I'm pretending this is the new Microphones album and it makes a lot of sense.

Just making sense of this, this is Fog the DJ right? There's a million Fogs, but I love the DJ.

An .mp3 of one of the tracks has appeared on the Ninja Tune website in the "downloads" section, uh, here.

Ether Teeth turned out to be a huge favourite of mine. I’ve been listening to the new album, 10th Avenue Freakout on Lex, for the last week and it’s won-won-wonderful as well. It’s focused more on songs and dynamics than the previous albums. The melodies and harmonies are beautiful and the sound is very idiosyncratic. I seem to be very poor at describing this album’s great quality. Listen!

Is there anything as good as that "We're Winning" mp3 that was up on Lex's website for a while?

Telephonething, Saturday, 9 April 2005 03:37 (8 years ago) Permalink

That’s on the album, and I think it’s got better songs. ‘Hummer’ from the so-titled EP is on there too. Almost all the songs are as ‘efficient’ (forlackofbetterwords) as these ones; there is less ‘lingering’/‘meditation’ (flobw) than on the previous albums. I think he always knew exactly what he was doing, but now it sounds like it too. Very focused for the most part. And hey, it’s beautiful.

Any opinions on Ditherer?

I really dug 10th Avenue Freakout. And Ether Teeth.

Ditherer's a bit less quirky and sperramental, bit more indie ROCK?

Drooone, Friday, 13 July 2007 05:40 (5 years ago) Permalink

Wow, the last minute or so of Your Beef is Mine is an utter joy.

Drooone, Friday, 13 July 2007 06:32 (5 years ago) Permalink

Loved the first album, the spazzy scratching, emo guitars, and the bedroom aesthetic of it all. And it had SONGS with HOOKS, which Ether Teeth and Hummer and 10th Ave all seemed to be lacking in, and all of which resolutely failed to hold my attention. Should I give him one last chance?

ledge, Friday, 13 July 2007 09:41 (5 years ago) Permalink

Yeah, it's really good.
