Out of interest, how do people rate his music? Any good?

I liked his first couple of singles/EPs - Safety Pin Stuck In My Heart especially. Can't say I go back to them often, though.

I like Patrick Fitzgerald. I've got a brilliant video called 'Rough Cut and Ready Dubbed'. It's all about the tranformation in UK music culture from Punk to New Wave and beyond. PF has the first song - 'Island of Lost Souls'. Very good - excellent video footage of drunken punks wobbling around the streets to accompany it. I like his voice; very insistent on that track - lots of soul. Does a quieter track later in that video.

Saw him recently at the Caroline of Brunswick in Brighton. He was superb.

I cannot believe none of these records have been reissued! Somebody needs to get on the ball there.

He comes and plays gigs in Hitchin now and again. I have to say the content's fairly affecting, if overall a bit depressing.

What other dudes are a bit like this? I can think of John Cooper Clarke and John Otway and maybe Jonathan Richman might come under this remit?

T.V. Smith?

Hate to say this but you could probably draw a line to Billy Bragg, and therefore on to... Frank Turner...
