1. Shawn Desman - "Shook" (a current example).

Also: This seems to happen a lot in Canadian videos. Wherefore?

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. One of my least favorite cliches.

One bad recent example is Alicia Keys' "A Woman's Worth".

Fuck.

Not the previous single per se, a few singles back, but there's always that great moment of Axl looking at his two-year-old self performing "Welcome to the Jungle" during the "Patience" video. Heh heh heh.

"Chicken Heads" (w/ "Sippin' On Syrup" on the radio, which kinda counts, same clique anyway)

Axl looking at his two-year-old self

Ah c'mon, I'm sure he was older than that.

I saw it pulled the other way around with Abandoned Pools, where the next single they were going to do was teased at the start of their first single.

Loverboy's "Lovin' Every Minute of It" video features a Combustible Edison-type band doing a surf version of "Workin' for the Weekend" at the beginning. (Joke was on them tho as the latter song was 10,000 times better)

yeh but that 'Pacific' sample is actually part of the track, not just tacked on for video purposes

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:09 (twenty-three years ago)

In the video to Blackstreet's "Wizzy Wow" the car cd player reads "No diggity" at the start but I don't think they actually play the song.

I love that video.

The beginning of the Foo Fighters' video for "Monkeywrench" features Dave Grohl in an elevator where an elevator-music version of "Big Me" is playing.

Not a video, but on the intro to "Detroit Rock City" on DESTROYER by Kiss, a car radio plays the live version of "Rock'n'Roll All Night".

I think the intro of the Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly video has something like this, too.
